Borobudur, or Barabudur, is a 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist Temple in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. The monument consists of nine stacked platforms, six square and three circular, topped by a central dome. The temple is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. The central dome is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues, each seated inside a perforated stupa. It is the world's largest Buddhist temple as well as one of the greatest Buddhist monuments in the world.

this is a verrrrrrry old one and it is from film, so i had to scan it
i made it in 1978 as i was in indonesia for half a year.
a friend took me on a tour on motorcycle through the mountains
we met gorgeous people, locals and children,
and we drank coconutmilk from a coconut somewhere ....
and at last we found high up in the mountains, where one of my cousins had a house.
from my cousins house we had a most breathtaking view over a valley from which
- day and night - so many sounds ascended. like thousands of crickets, paradise birds singing,
cock crowing, dogs belling and once in while you could hear some people playing gamelan
i get tears in my eyes when i hear the music, i was 21 and i knew i had come home.
grew up in holland, but i was born in indonesia ... and came back there for the very first time in 1978
