How to remain indifferent to the beauty of nature.

I love nature but I think we must protect it not only for our children but because it must be respected.

I love its silence, its smells, its colors, its shapes, its songs, its waters, its rocks, its blue sky, its winds, its vastness, its mystery.

"Storms are sex. They are indifferent to words and description and dissection." ~ Kevin Patterson

“Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...It's about learning to dance in the rain.” - Vivian Greene

www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoYG-GENrc0 - "Endless Summer"

This storm was unlike most local storms. It was churning like a whip cream in a blender; alternately going from cloudy, to sunny, to dark, to light, from brutal and threatening to caressing and exhilerating within the span of five or so minutes. Then there would be a break in the cycle, a moment of calm as if in the eye of a hurricane, and then the chaos would repeat itself. But regardless of the sky, the water continued to storm and surge, to roil and boil, and throw itself against the shore with an abandon that we seldom see, but from which we simply cannot turn away.

"I have an un-explainable belief that I will never cause harm or be harmed while at sea. Because of this, I feel secure at sea: I feel secure in the ice, I feel secure in the storms, and I feel secure in confrontations." Paul Watson

“When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what storm’s are all about.” - Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore

"....but so to it is when one emerges from Heaven. That's what visits to bliss are all about too.." - BossBob

Another in the series of shots taken during the storm on Halloween evening, October 30, 2014 down at the 39th St. Beach and Pier, Chicago.

This is the Church of the Lutheran Evangelical church. I myself am indeed been brought up Catholic, but basically to me this is all completely indifferent. I think that faith or not faith is a very personal thing and nobody has a right to force the other's opinion.

How many thorns

Do not dwell on the composition, there is none. I just wanted to share a picture of my big porcupine with all his thorns. His defense is so effective that it makes him totally indifferent to our presence. He walked slowly along the path in my direction. He passed 1 meter (3 feet) from me, looking at me out of the corner of one's eye. I almost felt like to touch it, but finally...

Please help me name this kitten...I have had him for two straight weeks and can't make up my mind. My parents always name their cats after monsters and I name mine after musicians. I already have a Broadcast and a PJ Harvey. I was hoping this little guy would get along with PJ Harvey and I could call him Nick Cave but, after two weeks, they seem kind of indifferent to eachother. I am also considering Leonard Cohen and Spiritualized. What do you think, all? Does he look like a Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, or a Spiritualized? Help!

Here's another photo of this little guy just taken with my cell phone but so cute (I use my Instagram mainly for protest videos and cat photos):

Until we understand what the land is, we are at odds with everything we touch. And to come to that understanding it is necessary, even now, to leave the regions of our conquest - the cleared fields, the towns and cities, the highways - and re-enter the woods. For only there can a man encounter the silence and the darkness of his own absence. Only in this silence and darkness can he recover the sense of the world's longevity, of its ability to thrive without him, of his inferiority to it and his dependence on it. Perhaps then, having heard that silence and seen that darkness, he will grow humble before the place and begin to take it in - to learn from it what it is. As its sounds come into his hearing, and its lights and colors come into his vision, and its odors come into his nostrils, then he may come into its presence as he never has before, and he will arrive in his place and will want to remain. His life will grow out of the ground like the other lives of the place, and take its place among them. He will be with them - neither ignorant of them, nor indifferent to them, nor against them - and so at last he will grow to be native-born. That is, he must reenter the silence and the darkness, and be born again.

No one can remain indifferent to the impressive steep cliffs and a sea so powerful and yet serene.

Here it seems that time stops. Daytime breezes, light, color, smell, make us forget all worries.

Everything is relative, it only matters the communion of the senses. The peace and beauty of the place oblige heady introspection, to an abandonment of the superfluous...

To pause here for the length of a life,

Ambitionless, indifferent, uncontentious;

To hold this hidden corner of the earth

In one’s gaze and in one’s heart

And to sense in oneself: Here I am,

At one with a place, contented;

To rest here still and let flow in.

What you see in these eyes

Is a fresh assortment of hand-picked lies

The Earth will turn with energy to spare

My words of wisdom somehow lose their flare

Cause indifferent density

You're accusing me of indifferent density

I light you up and watch you go

A fickle flame burning bright with things you know

I wanted your light to take me in

Crawling close left me cold and left you dim

So here we are, let's not pretend

No more love no more time to condescend

Slip out of my life and don't make a peep

The pendulum sways as I fall asleep

Two face mentality , face to face or borders .

This angelic monstrosity

I cannot condone your childish curiosity

Tell me that this is the way that it ends

Time, love and energy well its gone with the wind

Leave me in peace to pick up the pieces

For years I loved you but you refuse to believe this different worlds.

I haven't been able to take any very long exposures since April due to my incident in Lough Erne........

Last weekend I finally got to replace some of the gear that was destroyed and had a few hours this evening to go to the beach and play around a little. Now I know myself that this is far from perfect, even looking at it I can see that I need a way of stopping the tiny vibrations caused by the wind which in turn is leaving the subject a little soft. But it is an improvement on what went before. I am very keen to know what my contacts think, whether it be good, bad or indifferent feel free to let me know.

HSS!

This is most definitely an experiment. It has been suggested to me that I might enjoy the ride of new horizons if I were to expand them a little and I thought there was great truth in that advice.... so this is an attempt at something new for me..

I would ask a favour..........please be honest. If this is good, bad or indifferent I would really like to know. Seriously. I like the colours and the lumpiness (how's that for an artistic descriptive? :-D ) but I really don't know if this works at all. Don't hesitate to be honest....it won't hurt my feelings and I will genuinely appreciate your opinion.

By the way, it started life as two clumps of crocus. One was a very deep purple and the other a bright orange/yellow.....hence the title.

And life happens , life happens .

Spend life and have not noticed that you have lived,

when life happens and you have not noticed you have lived ,

when life happens , life happens .

Your dreams and your beautiful dreams , everything is forgotten

your dreams and your beautiful dreams , everything is forgotten .

Spend life , as the current passes

when the river finds the sea

and indifferent way wherever I go.

And passes the glory , the glory goes .

Spend the glory , pride blinds us ,

but one day passes the glory , pride blinds us ,

but one day passes the glory .

And passes the glory and you see your work

there remains no memory

and see that your work is no longer or memory.

And life passes as the current passes ,

when the river finds the sea

and indifferent way , where I want to take

Expecting the world to treat you fairly because you are a good person is a little like expecting an eagle not to Attack you because you are a vegetarian

I need not to fear my enemies because the most they can do is attack me. I need not to fear my friends because the most they can do is betray me. But I have much to fear from people who are indifferent.

When I am dead I will not care

Forever more,

If sky be radiantly fair

Or tempest roar.

If my life-hoard in sin be spent,

My wife re-wed,

I’ll be so damned indifferent

When I am dead.

When I meet up with dusty doom

What if I rest

In common ditch or marble tomb,

If curst or blest?

Shall my seed be to wealth or fame,

Or gallows led,

To me it will be all the same

When I am dead.

So say for me no pious prayer,

Be no tear shed;

In nothingness I cannot care,

I’ll be so dead.

I shall not reck of war or peace

When I go hence:

Lord, let me win sublime release,

INDIFFERENCE!

Memoria dell'occhio - Memory of the eye. Photo Lino Cannizzaro.

S’incontrano passanti d’ogni genere.

September 15, 2014 inaugurated the NEW wing of the Botanical Garden of Padua.

The new Garden of biodiversity, is an architectural work of 15 thousand square meters, almost entirely of glass.

Divided into 5 large greenhouses that recreate the atmosphere of the 5 continents, with more than 1,300 species of land and water, in addition to another 6,000 already present in the old Garden.

To see the garden of Biodiversity there is to be amazed.

From the fragrant vanilla to the large baobab: there are plants but also the colors, the smells and tastes of the 5 continents enclosed in the historic center of Padua.

The old botanical garden, already UNESCO world heritage site, was founded in 1545 and is the oldest university botanical garden still located in its original location.

One thing not indifferent, is the placement of the new wing, which faces, you can see it right on the beautiful church of Santa Giustina.

a genus of ornamental plants from the sunflower family, has over 30 species. usually yellow, orange, white, pink or red, although one stem can actually be multi-colored. very popular, the gerbera is the 5th most used cut flower. only the rose, the carnation, the chrysanthemum and the tulip have found more favor.

finally, in this list of fun daisy facts, bees, butterflies, and birds find these flowers irresistible, while deer are completely indifferent!
