This was taken from our Hotel at Kruger Park, South Africa in September... We were sitting on the balcony looking out over the river when the elephants came over to the fence :) it was beautiful to watch them, especially this cute little guy who keep sticking his trunk through every now and again to get some fresh grass :)

We did have to be careful though... there were signs up in the hotel that a leopard had been spotted on the grounds twice the week before we arrived...

Well, it's finally Friday again, thank goodness... We had some enormous flakes of snow last night, but I haven't look out yet to see if they stayed ;-)

Have a good day everyone and thank you all for the views, comments and faves :)

The Red-winged Starling, Onychognathus morio, is a bird native to eastern Africa from Ethiopia to the Cape in South Africa. Originally breeding mainly on rocky cliffs, outcrops and gorges, it is now common in urban areas, using buildings and other man-made structures as nest sites.

The Red-winged Starling builds a lined nest of grass and twigs, and with a mud base, on a natural or structural ledge. It lays 2–4, usually three, blue eggs, spotted with red-brown. The Red-winged Starling is territorial, aggressive and intolerant when nesting, and will attack other species, including domestic animals and humans.

The male of this 27-30 cm long starling has mainly iridescent black plumage, with chestnut flight feathers , which are particularly noticeable in flight. This species has a number of whistled calls, but the most familiar is the contact call, cher-leeeoo.

Buteo lineatus

What I believe is a Red Shouldered Hawk perched in a tree on the Polynesian Resort grounds at Walt Disney World. Despite the theme park atmosphere, there's an abdundance of wildlife throughout the 30 plus square miles of Walt Disney World property.

We spotted this hawk sitting in a tree located near the rear pathway leading to the Great Ceremonial House at Disney's Polynesian Resort. This is the second hawk that I've found in the trees at the Poly this year. Very regal looking birds!

This tree sat on the top of the hill beside our hotel. It was a perfect tree for photos, but had a black wrought iron fence on the right side that wrecked most good shots.

More shots below...;-)

Peacocks and Peahens live in the hotel grounds in Jamaica in which we stayed. It was lovely being in close proximity to them and we were able to watch on a regular basis the displays the Peacock made.

I watched this wonderful little girl from my hotel balcony while enjoying coffee one morning at the Sheraton on the Nile resort. She was very brave , but I am sure that her parents were watching her from afar also. They were out of sight though so she appeared to be all alone while she explored.

She walked out on the veranda of the hotel that over looked the Nile and without looking back for her parents, just kept on walking down the winding path that led to the Nile. Once there, she stayed and enjoyed the views and then wandered on back .

I don't mind giving this hotel a plug because I have always been treated like royalty there.

These lovely flowers were growing on a tree within our hotel grounds. Can anyone ID the flower please?

Something a little different. In Aventura Florida a couple weeks ago for a trade show. After all my meetings that day, grab my camera and wandered the grounds.

It was 90 degrees out, but there was a slight breeze..it was great to feel, but not great for taking photo's! lol I shot a lot of different Palms, but many where distorted due to the wind.

Taken in the grounds of the Hotel El Pinar, Torremolinos, Spain

Taking a stroll from la Carihuela up to La Roca repeatedly offers the visitor a timeless aspect of Torremolinos. Behind the emblematic fishermen's town, we can gaze at the magnitude of the tourist trading centre which has been guilt in the last fifty years. This city symbolised during the last era of Franco's regime the modernity, the openness and the modern times. The Cinema was responsible for this, and, of course, the Swedish girls. Now, after half a century, Torremolinos continues to be one of the top cities for national tourism. Its leadership seems unconnected with fashion and times.

Torremolinos, Malaga, AndaluciaFrom pre-history to independence.

Discoveries at the beaches and in the hills and caves of Torremolinos justify a human presence 150.000 years ago. Ptolemy, a Greek astronomer who was born two centuries B.C., stated that very close to here, in an area known as Guadalmar, the Phoenicians founded a city called Saduce, which had a great influence on the Mediterranean as a river port, but proof of its existence is only evident by the sparse remains left.

They had arrived the previous day from Manchester, Vt.She had developed greatly since I had last seen her, some yearsbefore, at a childrens party at my fathers house. I was greatly impressed and felt that I had met my fate. Aftertalking for a few minutes they continued on to their cottage. I wentto my room, feeling so agitated that I lay down. Your mothers feelings seem to have been the counterpart of mine, for she wrote to her friend Miss Arnold that she had met the manshe expected to marry. We understood each other at once. I hadplanned to return on Monday to New York, but remained a weeklonger, and spent much of the time with her. We had each broughta saddle-horse to Saratoga, and we rode together almost daily. I remember our first ride was to the lake, two days after we met.On our way back we came to the fork in the road, where the left-hand1:1823 (
