Disney's Hollywood Hotel is one of two hotels at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort in Penny's Bay, Lantau Island, Hong Kong. It opened in 2005 along with the rest of the resort. It is themed to 1930s Hollywood. The hotel has 600 guestrooms which offer different views; the garden view, the sea view and the park view which overlook the Hong Kong Disneyland park.
About the shot:
Shot taken after dinner. Lugging around a tripod during travel can really be a pain... But for special cases like this one, I don't mind :) Hope you like it as much as I did during capture....

Here is another one from my trip to LA back in March. This is a sunrise from the Iconic Hollywood Bowl overlook. The heavy smog in the skies really helped this image out as there were no real clouds to speak of the entire time I was down there.
Thanks as always for taking the time to check out my stream. I really appreciate it
This fast food snack stop is located on the open starboard deck area of the Queen Mary. For me I liked this image for it's contrasting scene from my vantage point, but there is something wrong about plunking a few tables and chairs on the open deck under the life boats. It detracts from the nostalgic and historical beauty this grand vessel has to offer. I went online to get some info on this deli but found nothing good, only bad to terrible reviews. That should be a signal to the gatekeepers.
If you have time I have linked a review, it is very well written and will leave you shaking your head.. www.yelp.com/biz/hollywood-deli-long-beach

I took this shot as part of the Kelby Worldwide Photowalk event:
This was taken on the same street that I lived on when I first moved to Los Angeles, right between Hollywood and Sunset BLVD almost 20 years ago. It was a pretty crappy street back then and save for this bitchen' mural, it still is. Coincidentally, I owned a pair of those exact basketball shoes!
A special thanks to Mr. Passerby for wearing matching colors! Now that was a coincidence!

Nightmare Before Christmas - Jack's Lament
Nightmare Before Christmas - Jack's Lament
There are few who'd deny, at what I do I am the best
For my talents are renowned far and wide
When it comes to surprises in the moonlit night
I excel without ever even trying
With the slightest little effort of my ghostlike charms
I have seen grown men give out a shriek
With the wave of my hand, and a well-placed moan
I have swept the very bravest off their feet
Yet year after year, it's the same routine
And I grow so weary of the sound of screams
And I, Jack, the Pumpkin King
Have grown so tired of the same old thing
Oh, somewhere deep inside of these bones
An emptiness began to grow
There's something out there, far from my home
A longing that I've never known
I'm a master of fright, and a demon of light
And I'll scare you right out of your pants
To a guy in Kentucky, I'm Mister Unlucky
And I'm known throughout England and France
And since I am dead, I can take off my head
To recite Shakespearean quotations
No animal nor man can scream like I can
With the fury of my recitations
But who here would ever understand
That the Pumpkin King with the skeleton grin
Would tire of his crown, if they only understood
He'd give it all up if he only could
Oh, there's an empty place in my bones
That calls out for something unknown
The fame and praise come year after year
Does nothing for these empty tears

Brian and I went to the HOLLYWOOD sign today and almost got arrested. We made it down to the sign and triggered an alarm and had a LAPD helicopter over us in less than a minute with sirens.

We took the kids to Hollywood yesterday. I've been to LA many, many times and this is my first trip there. This is a small dog park located in a residential area close to the Hollywood Reservoir (I believe in a place called Hollywood Knolls). This is where my brother used to take his dogs to let them run. It was hazy out...hence the bright sky and sign not being clear.
Typical tourist shot.
Wow, this shot made it to #30 in Flickr Explore. Thanks everyone!
Late afternoon view of the Hollywood sign from Griffith Park. The bench is located along a walking trail that starts in the Observatory parking lot. What a great place to take a quick break after a hike and view the sign on the Mount Lee / Hollywood Hills area of the Santa Monica Mountains. This photo was taken about an hour before sunset. The light was just starting to warm up.
