i would like to thank all of you who visited my previous Paris' pictures, i very much regret not having the time right now to thank you all personally....but you know i love you to come by and comment.....thanks so much....I love you as a great audience ! - from "Paris Je t'Aime"
Playing with my snoot, I decided to photograph CW in a very Hitchcockian way.
Model: Cameron Weasley aka CW
Walking along the front in Old Harwich where someone had put some food out for the seagulls.
This was a pot luck handheld snap.
Olympus Mju-1. Kodak BW400CN.
Another shot from my first time playing with my father's film Nikon/Nikkor 35-80 mm lens adapted with Metabones to my Sony a7RII. Birds were flying very close to the handful of people braving the cold at the 79th Street Boat Basin in Manhattan.
Week 2: Pattern
The mid-morning light coming into my living room created a mirror-image shadow of the coffee table. The old photographs scattered on top are a mystery. I think my mother-in-law might have brought them on her last visit--but I'm not certain. The whole scene felt a little Hitchcockian to me!
An astonishing scene on my drive home to California from Wyoming. This was in Idaho near Snake River Canyon, on what I believe was part of the land irrigated and settled under the Cary Act, in what is known as the Magic Valley. In the space of just a few acres, I saw dozens upon dozens of raptors, staked out like this. The species appears to be Swainson's Hawks (Thanks, Matt).
I've since read that Swainson's Hawks congregate in large groups like this, called kettles, before migrating to South America for the winter, primarily Argentina.
Despite its Hitchcockian appearance, she was actually having the time of her life. Taken at Granville Island, Vancouver.
the real stars of this picture are circling in hitchcockian silence, waiting to pounce on that spicey chicken breast. i wonder if they have any sense of cannibalizing their cousins.
A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that some large hawk-like birds have begun to roost on a cell phone tower. I pass this tower in route to and from work but haven't been able to stop to take any pictures.
Today, Mallory and I drove out to the tower and braved the cold wind (it has been super windy today). There were lots of birds on the tower and circling around us. I took a few pictures but wasn't able to get as close as I would like since that cell phone tower was so very tall.
At one point, Mallory asked if I thought they knew we were looking at them. Judging by the amount of bird crap on my car, I would say yes.
I have no idea what specific kind of bird this was. I don't think it was a hawk since they tend to be loners. There were at least 50 birds on the tower and circling around. Maybe more. Perhaps a falcon?

A busy day today! My better half and her pals are off pampering themselves at Crieff Hydro, so I'm left in sole charge of the kids today and tomorrow.
Another beautiful day today. Hasn't it been rather nice and dry here in Edinburgh? Most unusual, and long may it last.
So it made sense to make the most of the nice weather and go for a cycle in the Meadows. Bumped into one of my son's old carers from his previous nursery. It was good to catch up with her - a nice woman who's had it tough lately unfortunately.
All that fresh air tired out child #2 so, whilst she napped, I taught my son how to grapple. The little b*gger caught me in the eye with his fingernail, but I'll be ok. A less hazardous game of Snakes and Ladders followed.
Finally, after they were tucked in for bedtime, I spotted an opportunity to take a snap I've been meaning to take for ages - a view from my kitchen.
I'm a huge fan of Hitchcock's Rear Window. Must've seen it 4 or 5 times. The view from my own kitchen is quite similar - I can peer across to other flats like James Stewart. We even have an opera singer too - and a naked postman - but the less said about him, the better.
No grisly murders to report this evening, thankfully!

...it's like Rear Window, all those apartments, and the window-washers certainly give me vertigo!
1. Most views: WYSI Wig
A very early picture of Priscilla - pre re-root and spa treatment. She's wearing a wig here to cover her tightly cropped hair, with lips that I painted and dreadful, sozzled yellow eyes. This was just before she was sent off to Greece. Not a great shot, but interestingly, the most views?!?
2. Most favorited: Obviously she's home
Priscilla POST reroot and spa work by Leo of Poupée Mécanique. She'd just arrived back by post and this was a hasty shot I took of her straight out of the box. Hair did. Face sanded. New blush. New lips. Eyeballs de-sozzled. lol. Again, not a great shot per se, so I never understand why this shot was so favourited. I have plenty of lovelier shots of Princess P.
3. Most commented: thanks Eerika!
Okay, so technically "Obviously She's Home" was also the most commented shot (4 years later - people still comment! & favourite), so rather than repeat the same image, I chose the next most commented shot which features Priscilla in a Hitchcockian pastiche of The Birds, inspired by the stunning outfit set made by the supremely talented Eerika/Kittyvane.
4. My personal fave: this is a stickup
I love this shot for so many reasons. The colours, the composition, the focus and the DoF. Tatum, my redhead KB looks luminous and Greedo from Star Wars, well, he looks like he may have his penis exposed in this picture, LOL. PLUS, they were both made by Kenner. What's not to love?
