I wanted to avoid birds and shower curtains; hesitated about plunging a pair of scissors into a trench-coated back, found a site showing frames with knives and blades, so this is vaguely inspired by frame 441 from The Torn Curtain.

"You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Kills You" is a Hip Hop thriller Executive Produced by Spike Lee and written and directed by his protégé Michael A. Pinckney. "You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Kills You" is an action packed and gritty story of two New York City homicide detectives that are forced into the high-stakes world of the hip hop industry. A complex web of murder, sex, money and music unfolds as the homicide detectives track a serial killer with an appetite for some of hip hop's biggest stars. Detective Charles Johnson, a twenty-seven year veteran of the New York City Police force, is on the heels of retirement when a killer strikes. The murders are not random acts of violence however; they're by the hands of a serial killer whose victims happen to be some of the Rap industry's biggest stars. In an effort to catch the killer, Joseph Francelli, a young and hip detective from the special divisions unit is brought onto the case to assist Detective Johnson in protecting Manchild, a rising star, struggling with the decline of hip hop, causing him to re-evaluate his life. The film concludes with the detectives bringing the killer to justice in this urban thriller with an unexpected twist at the end, in true Hitchcockian grandeur.

A cold, brief trip to the park to feed the squirrels who were bugging me for food on the way back from shopping earlier in the day.

It started off very relaxed, with just a few squirrels to feed, but after a while about 30 pigeons, 20 crows and 10 more squirrels were all surrounding me and it became a bit Hitchcockian, especially with the crows swooping over my head. What was disturbing was the fact that dozens of birds appeared from nowhere without any noises or calls from their colleagues. Was a first for me, I imagine they hadn't been fed for a while.

i like this because its very hitchcockian or de palma esque

As we depart bath the swirl of birds on the horizon of this field appears a bit Hitchcockian.

Taken by Isabel, who really loves taking portraits, and not landscapes.

An evening of experimenting with Perl, ImageMagick and Hitchcockian images.

Don't worry; I'm not going to break my leg, mount a massive telephoto lens and try to solve a mystery while spying on my neighbors. And while the camera might be the prominent character in a Hitchcockian point of view I'm throwing all the out the Rear Window because this lefty designed camera isn't a bad camera to shoot. It's just awkward to operate; we're talking the first date in high school awkward with both sets of parents acting as a chaperon.

Feeling a bit of a gloomy Hitchcockian edge

Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach is a bird sanctuary, so you will sometimes see this Hitchcockian sight if you look up at the top.

Stuck in an unhappy marriage to a shrewish, boozed up nymphomaniac (Stella Stevens), a housing developer (Jeffrey Hunter) receives a visit from an old Korean war buddy (David Janssen) who lures him into helping rob a South American dictator of three million dollars. But theyre both amateurs, dangerously out of their element and, of course, everything goes horribly wrong. Directed by the actor Edmond OBrien (THE BAREFOOT CONTESSA), this should be better than it is. It has all the elements of a classic film noir but OBrien cant seem to combine all the ingredients into a satisfying whole. It has an almost surreal quality to it like Hunters neighborhood which seems populated entirely of alcoholic wife swappers. The film has a killer twist Hitchcockian ending just waiting to happen that I saw coming but it doesnt!!! To be fair, some of the problems may be inherent in the source material by John D. MacDonald (CAPE FEAR) but I havent read the novel its based on, TAINT OF THE TIGER. It doesnt help that potentially complex characters are played by such uninteresting actors as Hunter (whos weaker than usual) and Janssen which leaves Stevens slut to take center stage. The film is nicely shot in wide screen B&W by Loyal Griggs (SHANE). With Elaine Devry, Bob Crane, Virginia Gregg, Frank Albertson, Perry Lopez and Dorothy Green. The Olive DVD is a crisp anamorphic wide screen (2.35) transfer.

They thought we were going to feed them. It was, oddly, a little scary. There were about 100 more of them following these. Hitchcockian....
