I love taking evening pictures of roads and highways. The Hemus highway in Bulgaria is my favorite place to do this, however I have already shot most of the interesting places there. That is why I dedicated today to finding suitable photo-places for a photosession of the Lulin Highway. Although it is only 19km long, the road runs through the Lulin Mountains and has a few good places for this kind of photography. Unfortunately Sunday was the wrong day for this kind of pictures as the traffic was very low for a good shot.
Encountered some nice light on the drive over to Beaumont, Texas today.
Cheers everyone; have a great weekend.

A monsoon starts kicking up the dust and generating some lightning as the day comes to a close near Picacho Peak. I had to hold my very heavy and stable Mafrotto tripod steady while the sudden surge of wind overtook me as this long exposure was happening. It's always fun shooting lightning. This is my one shot out of forty. A pretty typical ratio.
When I am driving on the road that leads to sunshine, I always feel I am driving towards the sun, towards brightness, and towards hope. So I would like to use this picture as my cover photo for 2014, the title would be "life is a highway", and I will drive it all year long.
30 Seconds of the M40 at dusk :) Been thinking about this shot for a few weeks as the location is on my drive home - decided to give it a go today. It was very windy hence the cloud and tree movement.
