“Heroes know that things must happen when it is time for them to happen.”

[Peter S. Beagle]

They call it Hero, a tree grows so tall that it may extends up to five stories or more in height. The flowers are huge in size and usually red in colour. It has several binomial names and commonly called as cotton tree. Perhaps it is one of the first flowers that bloom in the spring in subtropical lands.

Hard faced gentle

Soldier meant for

Depression is a virus

That could undermine us

Heroes never cry

Headaches, blend all

Work hard, spend all

Character assassination

An inverted phase

The enemy is us

I got more animals to showcase. However, the response that I'm getting with the animals was not favorable and I can easily get bored with a series especially when it lacks support from my friends.

So, I'm back with my first love. The Wheels.

I started working with this picture that's made up of 7 exposures on Photomatix. First, I tried my old extreme style that made me known to the HDR world. I was praised and in some quarters, got stoned too. However, I was not happy with the old result and decided to go for a more subtle & realistic looking HDR.

Then, I loaded the HDR image to Photoshop CS2 to work on levels, saturations, curves, etc. And still, I was not at all satisfied.

Finally, I decided to play with my imagination. The funny thing is that I came out with something HDR is not supposed to be. HDR in my opinion is a flat image where highlights and shadows are on equal terms. I'm not a proponent of the flat HDR image where the shadows are almost eliminated. I love my image to be composed of lights and shadows. So, this is the final image where I wish will win your most coveted approval.

In summary, this is 1/3 Photomatix, 1/3 Photoshop and 1/3 KK Touch.

Thank you all.

This ARTIST is for HIRE.

Heroes are the people who do what has to be done regardless of the consequences.

Shot this past Summer at the New York State Fallen Firefighters Monument found besides/within Empire State Plaza in Albany.

Very emotional coming upon this ten feet tall sculpture by artist Robert J. Eccleston of Schuyler Falls, New York.

This is my Grandfather and he's dying. I grew up with no father so he filled the role. Ask yourself this question, have you ever known anyone with whom you've never been mad at? Have you ever known anyone who has only shown you love. I can still hear his laugh....I'm sad, but I'm ok. He's suffering greatly and I just want him to be free. He is by far the greatest man I've ever known and I love him with all my heart. I wanted to put this picture up because its such an intimate moment, finally some rest in between trying to catch his breath, so that it might move a few of you out there in Flickrville to go and spend some time with your Grandparents or loved ones. Tell them you love them, tell them they are your heroes. Love you Grandad, my Hero....

He realizado este héroe a petición de mi amiga Virginia..., cómo nunca me disfracé en carnaval, ahora lo hago con este ropaje de super_héroe del comic jajaja.

Let me be your hero..

Would you dance,

If I asked you to dance?

Would you run,

And never look back?

Would you cry,

If you saw me crying?

And would you save my soul, tonight?

A panning shot of my youngest Son on the merry go round. I had some great color but wanted to do something different, so added a noir filter in post. Thanks for all your support, it is greatly appreciated. Have a good day.

There's a hero If you look inside your heart You don't have to be afraid Of what you are There's an answer If you reach into your soul And the sorrow that you know Will melt away

These heroes are dead. They died for liberty - they died for us. They are at rest. They sleep in the land they made free, under the flag they rendered stainless, under the solemn pines, the sad hemlocks, the tearful willows, and the embracing vines. They sleep beneath the shadows of the clouds, careless alike of sunshine or of storm, each in the windowless Place of Rest. Earth may run red with other wars - they are at peace. In the midst of battle, in the roar of conflict, they found the serenity of death. I have one sentiment for soldiers living and dead: cheers for the living; tears for the dead. ~Robert G. Ingersoll

Wishing you a terrific Memorial Day weekend! May we always remember and be thankful for those who gave everything while serving our nation and protecting our freedom.

Hio or Hero ... both, have the same sound and meaning for some of us.

The Heroes Square (Hősök tere) is one of the major squares in Budapest, Hungary. Noted for its iconic statue complex featuring the Seven Chieftains of the Magyars and other important national leaders, as well as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The square lies at the outbound end of Andrássy Avenue next to City Park (Városliget). It hosts the Museum of Fine Arts and the Műcsarnok. The square has played an important part in contemporary Hungarian history and has been a host to many political events, such as the reburial of Imre Nagy in 1989. The sculptures were made by sculptor Zala György from Lendava.

This Sunflower appropriately named Ring of Fire greets the sun on a July Morning in 2012. Thanks for the visit and have a great weekend everybody.

I posted this a while back for a Masterminds challenge called "Heroes", and thought it warranted a repost.

As Memorial Day approaches, and as you enjoy your time off with your friends and family, remember those that sacrificed themselves for your freedom.

To everyone in the military, past and present, alive or dead...and to their families keeping things going on the homefront, I salute you all.

There's a hero if you look inside your heart

You don't have to be afraid of what you are

There's an answer if you reach into your soul

and the sorrow that you know will melt away

And then a hero comes along with the strength to carry on

and you cast your fears aside and you know you can survive

So when you feel like hope is gone look inside you and be strong

and you'll finally see the truth - that a hero lies in you

It's a long road when you face the world alone

No one reaches out a hand for you to hold

You can find love if you search within yourself

and the emptiness you felt will disappear ...

Lord knows Dreams are hard to follow

but don't let anyone tear them away

Hold on, there will be tomorrow in time you'll find the way ...

My hero is the clever one against the crisis! You can go shopping with him...He will save a lot of money!!!! XD

" I, I will be king

And you, you will be queen

Though nothing will drive them away

We can beat them, just for one day

We can be Heroes, just for one day

And you, you can be mean

And I, I'll drink all the time

'Cause we're lovers, and that is a fact

Yes we're lovers, and that is that."
