I was thinking about my Dutch heritage today and felt rather nostalgic so thought I would post a pic that I had taken when on a visit there,,,,, wishing everyone a good day and thanks for your visits,,,,
This barn was part of my Mother's Homestead when she was a young girl. This is the only old barn left so I have a particular fondness for it even though there is nothing very special about its appearance. Thus the name Heritage.
I was excited to see another "blizzard" here on Saturday and could not get out of work fast enough to get out shooting! =)
Bring on more snow! :D
UP 1995, the CNW Heritage, leads the CNW 8701 and CNW 8646 on MCBPR-24 under the coal chute at DeKalb, IL. This trio ran together for quite some time in the fall of 2006. This location was a one-and-done for me on this day, probably because of class at NIU.

Poppy Plaza war memorial was designed by the Marc Boutin Architectural Collaborative and Stantec Consulting.
The Plaza is organized around two surfaces. First, a folded wood deck made of low-maintenance Balau wood honours an existing heritage tree, provides seating and space for native plantings and is sheltered from the summer sun by a new grove of Aspen trees. The second surface is a weathering steel wall that navigates the steep grade along the riverbank, protects the wood deck from winter ice flows and extends the adjacent urban neighbourhood to the river’s edge.

Clevedon Pier, UK a grade listed Victorian structure built in 1860 is 312m long and 15m above high water.
It was once described by Sir John Betjeman as "The most beautiful pier in England" and for over 100 years has served as an embarkation point for paddle steamer excursions.
Various parts of the pier have been through extensive restoration, over the years, as the weather, sea, stress and general wear and tear had caused considerable damage.
Re-painting and other work was completed in the summer of 2013.

I just got back from a weekend in South Wales Heritage Coast. Rainy forecast brought in terrific skies throughout the weekend. It was such an amazing location. I can't wait to go back for sure!
This one is taken at Traeth Mawr right before sunset. I was able to capture a rainbow that appeared briefly over the cliffs.
The Conrail heritage unit leads manifest freight train 17G through Sewickley, Pa this morning. This is the second time I've shot 8098 but the first time it was trailing, happy to knock this one off the list.

Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ USA
For APD's coverage of the event:
Such a privilege to be up-close and personal with these stones, a site of celestial importance which sits amidst one of England's best night-sky viewing areas.
Having arranged special access with English Heritage (don't even bother trying to get in without it, the 24/7/365 security team are very friendly but exceptionally dedicated to their task of protecting the stones) you can't imagine my absolute delight on seeing this appear on my camera's LCD as the very first shot of the night. I could have packed up there and then- but I didn't ;)
Single continuous exposure, shot exactly one year ago on an exceptionally cold & clear Valentine's night. Gawd, MrsWhyNot puts up with a lot...
Indian Railways has a great heritage where steam locomotives played a great role in shaping up what it is today !!!
I took a gamble and a little bit of PTO when I saw NS 8102 and NS 1073 rolling west on the Chillicothe Sub with the M-NSIGAL1-02A out of Streator. I caught up with it holding at Linwood Rd in Galesburg when I arrived and chased them into the yard. After looping through the Cameron Connection, the heritage pair ran the Passenger Main and entered the yard from the north end.
My first heritage duo in Galesburg was the RDG/LV combo.

The Southern heritage in off the M-NEWGAL4-12 is hostled between a trimmer job and the power for the M-GALLAW.
Thankfully the inbound crew did not take the Southern to the engine facility, instead leaving it for the hostlers 2 hours later.

NS SD70ACe #1070, the Wabash heritage unit, sits on the point of its train with another 'ACe, while NS ES44AC #8101, the Central of Georgia heritage unit, is looking mighty fine on the point of its train, with one heck of a lashup! Behind it is NS SD70ACe #1059, BNSF C44-9W #5191, CEFX, ex-Soo SD60 #6007, and CEFX AC4400CW #1007. 8101's train is NS symbol 65R / BNSF symbol U-NSDTND 4, westbound at Western Avenue in Chicago. Also in this shot is a BNSF geep- the local and yard power around here. I'm unsure of the symbol of 1070's train, though to hazard a guess, it's probably another section of 65R.
CN G845 glides through historic downtown Galena with the PC and Pennsy heritage units leading the way. This almost looks like it could be a small town in Pennsylvania. Thanks to Williams and Williams for the updates!
Power from NS and CSX sits in Conrail's Sterling Yard in Sterling Heights, MI, in the form of a former Conrail GP40-2 and 2 ES44ACs, one of them the Leigh Valley heritage unit.
