OK, I know it's another Herb Robert and I post quite a few of these, however, I do love these little flowers. They are a great test for macro photography and I'm using these to test lenses and various techniques, lighting etc...

With so many quests at Tigelfah castle the evening meal in the Great Hall promises to be a night to remember.
Of course not everybody is happy, particular the servants of the castle who have a busy day making preparations who are not always helped by the young children.
Outside the kitchen one of the servants, Edelène, is picking some herbs from the castles herb garden. Bazile her son is helping, mostly.

Der Boden muss zu nass sein, um Buchen, die der potenziellen natürlichen Vegetation in Norddeutschland entsprechen, das Wachstum zu ermöglichen. Außerdem muss er nährstoffarm sein, da sonst Erlen wachsen. Birken sind dann (neben Kiefern) die einzigen Pflanzen, die unter diesen Bedingungen noch Baumgröße erreichen können.
Some parts of the Duvenstedter Brook natural reserve in Hamburg are made of Birch swamp forst. It exists, if two conditions are given:
The ground must be wet, so that beeches, who are the normal forest vegetation in northern Germany, can not growth.
Besides, it must be low nutrient, because otherwise, alder trees would grow. So birches are the only plants, who grow into trees in this area.
