Once upon a time I owned a leetle store called Awesome Blossom. I loved building and having a creative outlet but over time the stresses and demands got to be too much and with major RL changes looming on the horizon, I felt it was best to close my store since I just couldn't dedicate the time and attention it (and my customers) needed. That decision, as it turned out, was for the best. My son got sick, was hospitalized and diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes back in February, we lost our house around that same time and we were suddenly facing a move to an unknown land, otherwise known as the South.
But, I missed building.
But life was busy. After we moved, I lost my RL work from home job and began my job search and after a month I found a job and we began the task of settling down into a new life. I was focusing on my family and myself and life... despite all of it's setbacks was finally good again.
But, I missed building.
And so I began to build in my spare time. Just little things, here and there and it was actually fun again! There was no pressure and no demands and no trying to "keep up with the Joneses." As I shared my new creations with friends and family, they all kept saying "you should re-open your store," but I closed Awesome Blossom for a few different reasons and didn't feel right about bringing it back. The seed was planted though and I kept thinking about sharing new things I was making.
So after much thought (and yelling and prodding from friends and family) I decided to open up a leetle store in SL so I would have a place to share whatever it was I decided to build on whim. This store will be small and will not have any of my old Awesome Blossom items in it. Those items will still be available on the Marketplace and I promise I will get that updated with all of my old stuff before the end of the year.
Along with the new store came a new name and this one was actually easy. Autumn is my favorite time of the year. It's when the harsh and unforgiving Summer starts to fade and everything gets sleepy with the promise of renewal. Autumn is full of warm colors, cozy sweaters and scarves and mugs of steaming hot tea. It's comfortable and familiar and just kind of wraps you up in it. Autumn also begins in September (September 22nd to be exact) and since I have been undergoing my own metamorphasis for the last 6 months... it seemed only fitting.
And so Hello, September. was born.
I'm working on opening my new store and fingers crossed, it will be done by next weekend at the very latest. I should warn you. It really is little and not full of very many things but the things that are there were created out of time and lots of love. I should also warn you that I won't be building on any kind of a schedule. Only when the desire hits me. RL is still hectic, but if you join the update group, you'll get notices on any new additions as well as any free gifties when I share them.
If you made it this far reading all of this, then I thank you. Thank you to all of my customers who have gone out of their way to tell me over the last few months that they have missed my store. Thank you also to my family and friends (Lauren and Jess, Meme and Randi and everyone else) who have stood by my side this past year and who have encouraged me, held me up when I all I wanted to go was give up and who have loved me through it all.
