When the park closes for the day, the fun is just beginning. Another hour of shopping and photography, what more could you ask for?

Botany Bay on Edisto Island is one of my favorite places to shoot. I just got back from a week on Edisto and spent 3 mornings shooting dawn at Botany Bay. There will be more images coming. ;-)
The Story
In the small village of Medbourne in South Leicestershire lies the delightful church of St Giles.
The Shot

Here is an incredible view of the towers from across KLCC park, an HDR image shot with my Sony A7r. We'd gone up to the skybar for some drinks, as it is a must-do on every tourists visit to Kuala Lumpur apparently, and the view was to die for. This HDR image brings back many happy memories for me and I hope you enjoy it too. Malaysia is such an amazing country and has taken a special place in my heart.

In July 2011, My job took me to Sicily for a couple of days. I did not have too much time to shoot, but I manage to spend a couple of free evenings with my DSLR. The temperature was very high (38-39 °C), but I wanted to stay out anyway :)

One of those sunrises you are so happy you got out of bed for. The sky lit up for 30 minutes or so and I got my camera gear in and amongst the Bondi Iceberg baths. These are ocean tidal pools right on the water and the sea waves crash over into them. Its the perfect place to swim and have a good time in the summer.

A set of red lanterns across the pedestrian bridge to Southbank had a dramatic impact on the Brisbane cityscape. I think their pink hue looked really nice reflected on the rivers surface and then up to the clouds.

Another image from what is turning out to be a 'Flagstaff Lake series.' This was taken on the same morning as Flagstaff Lake Sunrise and Morning on Flagstaff Lake. At this point, I can't wait to go back there in autumn.

I downloaded Photomatix tonight and quickly tonemapped this shot. I'm impressed with the ease of use, power and control it allows and am eager to play when I have more time.
Colorado National Monument preserves one of the grand landscapes of the American West. But this treasure is much more than a monument. Towering monoliths exist within a vast plateau and canyon panorama. You can experience sheer-walled, red rock canyons along the twists and turns of Rim Rock Drive, where you may spy bighorn sheep and soaring eagles.

There is a neighborhood not far from where I live where all the yard's flowers have peaked and is absolutely spectacular at this time.
This is locally know as the Pirates tower. I ran into a family that live near by and they recited a story about how the home owner that lived in the home at the the top of the tower used to dress up like a pirate and walk the streets and pubs telling people that he has hidden coins in the boards of the spiral staircase that leads to the top, for the kids in the area to find if they explored it well enough. The kids in the area spent a lot of time in that tower. :)

Good morning everyone, this is Looking Glass Falls up near Brevard North Carolina, this North Carolina Waterfall is easy access with steps leading down to the falls. Late afternoon is not the time to be there, too crowded during the summer months. Early morning you have the falls all to yourself. (Post Processing: This is a bracket image, brackets were merged inside Lightroom using HDRSoft's Photomatix Pro 32 bit Merge to HDR plugin. Final post processing was completed using Topaz Labs Glow, Fantasy -> Mysterious @50% strength, then on to Topaz Impression, Painting -> Georgia O'Keeffe @40% strength.)

My first attempt at HDR... any good ???
I have downloaded the trail version of Photomatix....to try it out for awhile to see if I like it or not...sorry for the watermarks on the photos but this is just a test using HDR....I did take many bracketed photos over the weekend as the clouds and lights seemed to be the perfect chance to test this out....
This is a three exposure HDR image.
Do you like this version ??? I may invest in the program a little bit down the road..

View in FULL size. Clouds rise above the crops in Spreckels, CA (Salinas Valley). A three shot HDR (6 stop variance) used to just produce the rich colors and bring the foreground to ilfe. This is not something I would normally photograph, but the leading lines of the crops rows caught my attention. The HDR effect gave some surreal motion to the clouds.

So I am embarrassed that I didn't upload an image for my 365 yesterday. It was raining outside and I had put HDR as my theme for week one and didn't know what I wanted to photograph inside the house for HDR. So I thought about it all day and came up with what I thought were good ideas. But when I viewed them on the computer I really was not happy at all.
I am not the type of person that can upload something I am not happy with. I guess the mentality of a person that is serious about a 365 project is willing to upload something everyday, even if they are not too happy about their image. I just can't bring myself to do something like that. Up until recently my uploads were not very frequent due to being way to picky. I am not saying I am great or anything, but I at least need to be willing to stand behind my image and I don't think I will be able to do that for a 365 project. Maybe when I get more experience and knowledge I can try again. I will do my best to upload images on a regular basis.
This image is an hdr image comprised of three 30 second exposures. I applied a lot of dodging and burning.
Thanks for looking.

This is Bondi Beach during blue hour when the sounds of the busy day are coming to a decrescendo and the ocean waves begin to drown out the city. Natural channels have been carved out in the rocky landscape for seawater to drain in and out of them with the tides.

The turnover on advertisements in Times Square is extremely fast. With a little knowledge of pop culture you can guess pretty accurately when a photo was taken. Or in many cases, like with the purple billboard on the left, the date is printed right on the advertisement.
If you want to see Times Square nearly empty like this, just go around 1am. I'm sure it probably gets even more desolate as it gets later. This was from my last night in New York, and I did my best to capture as much as I could before I had to leave. I processed this with the HDRsoft 32-bit HDR plug-in for Lightroom. It's so easy to use, it is definitely my favorite method for adding dynamic range to my images.
This image took me a while to capture as I had to set my tripod in the sand in between sets of waves and wait for the water to flow out till I got the glassy surface I was looking for. I wanted to put a different spin on a world famous Skyline, Surfer's Paradise, Australia.
