Believe it or not, after these three kittens, we still have six more in the queue still being fostered by one of my co-workers that I haven't met yet. Here, in order, are Iggybuff, Mr. Buff and Snorlax. I hope the Pokemon name series is almost up.

Miss Moneypenny was not impressed with our providing boxes and bags to play with. She gave the look which suggested "senior ladies don't mess with such things" I think it's only a matter of time and as you may have seen, she is now playing with string and catnip mice :)
Happy Caturday to Everyone! With the kittens in the house, this is the best I could do. Can't believe these things that are so small take up so much time and energy!
Shutter was kind of a skittish cat from the start, never one to engage in some of the typical displays of cat affection such as head-butting or rubbing against legs. She will, however, entertain a round or two of scritching while I'm sitting on the sofa, almost always at arm's length.

The theme for Happy Caturday this week is Cats Supervising and I didn't encounter a single cat who was feeling in charge of anything. Milo (left) and Mickey are the furthest things from supervisors or leaders that you can get. They are quintessential followers. They don't initiate anything - they don't ask for food, or to get out of their cages or for attention. They don't engage with other cats, seemingly unaware that there are even other cats in the room. They don't emote - no hissing, no purring, no dilating eyes when excited, no making mushy paws, no playfulness. They are mellow to the point of being furry automatons. When I walk into the boarding room they instantly get up and walk to me and then just stand there, waiting for me to make the next move. Their expressions are always blank - no excitement, no fear, no anger, no bliss.
Milo and Mickey are unlike any other cats I've ever met and they make me laugh every single, solitary time I look at them. They lounge around waiting for life to happen. If it doesn't, they lounge around some more, and wait a little longer.

I really love this photo, because this is Lillie's typical stare when I don't hurry up to get the food ready. She will sit in front of me giving me this penetrable stare until I'll surrender. Happy Caturday!

Mr Linton to the rear and Mr Lockwood to the front. Brothers by litter and brothers in arms. Where you found one (Usually Mr Linton) you would find the other close by.
Two lovable cats, adopted by us and tragically lost their lives in traffic accidents. They had a ball while they were with us - though the birds would not thank us for letting them out - they owned their lands and lived life to the full.
Two beautiful boys, now in a beautiful place and marked by memorial stones in the garden.

Can I introduce you to Bessie Leaven, had she lived until today, she would have been 37 :)) Even so, she did live to 11 years, and was an outdoor loving cat, with an attitude that made her queen bee on the street until illness took her.
Bessie Leaven was our very first cat who adopted us as a kitten, shortly after we were married. Named after a 'Bronte' character even back then, she was a real sweetheart who passed when she developed a tumour. As you can see, she was another 'box lover'.
Since Bessie Leaven came to us, we have never been without a cat and it seems so strange now to not have one sat on our laps - no disrespect to Miss Bronte!
Pasta is sort of a friend of the family's and has been at the practice so long she thinks she runs the place. In fact, her favorite place during business hours is on the manager's desk - right there where she can oversee everything that goes on.

I needed a picture of a happy cat for this week's Happy Caturday theme. Should be easy peasy, right? Well, this past week I've taken pictures of cats wearing Halloween costumes who were decidedly not happy. I took pictures of a darling kitten recovering from a spay surgery - cute but not happy and I took lots and lots of pictures of Jimmy and Mack in the Autumn leaves. I like many of them just because of the colors but in most of them Jimmy and Mack are looking nervous because we were in less familiar quads in our townhouse complex. So again, cute cats, great surroundings but not necessarily happy.
So, here's Jimmy being happy. He's near me and he's licking his lips after eating a yummy treat I put on the bench as an incentive for this photo shoot.

PS It's very unusual for me to take a picture of a cat where the cat is not the focus. For me, this picture is a tribute to the fall I see right at home.
Bastian always looks very focused, when he is in there. It's serious business...
