The sepia look is Photoshop editing - first Desaturating, then turning up Yellow to max and finally adjusting Hue towards the brownish. :)

FIREFLIES – OWL CITY
Hello everyone; do you all remember me?
I'm Kitty from da Hood's little cat, they call me l'il Billy
It's a sunny day today; I'm feeling lazy;
don't wanna climb a tree
The word out on the street is that it's a sunny Saturday
so I says to Mum, “Hey, don't forget 'bout Caturday!”
I really don't mind posing for a picture in a hat today
but I'd rather sniff the table;
catch the sunlight and be shadowy
I'm just chilling out; I'm a part of the garden statuary
I stand so still and let nature be a part of me
it comes in handy when I see the local constabulary
I'm like the Neighbourhood Watch reporting back on all I see
if you see a twitching curtain
and a glimpse of fur, you'll guess it's me
as I clamber up the back of the ancient antique big settee
and I play peek through the curtain,
pulling threads of cotton recklessly
but Mum never tells me off, because you see she is my Family
I run around behind her; she says I'm like a little dog
but what she doesn't realise is
I'm protecting her from the seaside fog
ok, I know it's sunny now, but it creeps up on you suddenly
and she has no sense of direction,
so she might get swept out far to sea
oh yes, I hear you laughing and you think that I'm so very silly
but I have an important job to do … gotta go …
Mum just called “Where you at Billy?!!

Sorry I am away now until late tomorrow and will have no internet connection : 0( I will catch up with you all then. Thank you so much for your kind comments and visits. I really do appreciate each and every one. Take care and have a wonderful weekend. In England the clocks go forward by one hour which means longer lighter evenings and more chance for picture taking!! Lots of love, Poppy xo

I know. I know. There's no such thing as an ugly kitten. Well, meet Rapidash. I almost met her on Wednesday but according to a fellow employee who is fostering her and brings her to work, Rapidash was sickly looking, wouldn't lift her head, didn't eat and her eyes looked dull. This past week was NOT the week to get to know a failing-to-thrive kitten. But then on Thursday, she had made such a miraculous turn around (hopefully not just temporary) that I let myself interact with her. She totally won me over. She is so ugly that she's endearing and she loves to pounce on toys but because she is so young and uncoordinated she often fixes her gaze on the toy and then misses it completely when attempting to attack it. She's incredibly curious, playful and loves chasing shoes. If you walk away from her, she runs to follow you.
For this week's Happy Caturday theme, dining in style, I plopped some food in front of her and hoped she'd take the time out of her newly-busy schedule to eat. Contrary to the food on her nose, she really didn't eat enough for me to get many pictures. And with her residing in a basement, having black fur and being forever on the go, this was as good as I got.

Playing in her triple tunnel.
I apologize that I have to post and run this morning. I will comment later today. Happy Caturday!

WHAT'S NEW PUSSYCAT – TOM JONES
Looking for the waxwings
eating apples in the orchard
a big cat came to greet me
he was huge and very forward
He climbed the fence to meet me
to block my view of birds
he told me they were meant for him
hadn't anybody heard
I must admit he made my day
he made me belly laugh
I laughed until my ribs were aching
he told me I was daft
He climbed the fence like he was human
and not a cat at all
but he landed like a cat on all fours
told me a tale so tall
Once upon an eerie moment
he said he'd seen a ghost
while lurking in the nearby churchyard
scratching at a post
It was the spirit of a lady
who carried a lantern bright
she stooped to pick up falling conkers
her body clothed in white
her hair so long and straggly dangled
over her eyes and face
her finger nails were more like talons
that cut through her finest lace
“I think she was a witch”, he said
“and once I was her familiar,
so I hid behind the biggest headstone
in case she beckoned me to her.”
“Were you afraid?”, I asked the cat.
“No, not at all, not really ...
but I'd rather be a humble cat
chasing the waxwings freely.”
He looked well fed and was content
he loved to pose for his portrait
and I was sorry to say goodbye
but had I stayed I would be late
Happy Fence Friday to you my friends
and a Happy Caturday too
It's nice to be back and feeling happy
and it's lovely to see all of you! : 0)

Cats and Screens... for Happy Caturday
This is Lisa, my neighbour‘s cat. She is quite determined when it comes to getting her TLC and knows effectfully how to block either the screen or the keyboard, as you can see.

Sprocket doesn't seem to have the same fascination with cardboard boxes as she did in her younger years, other than chewing on them (come to think of it, so does sister Shutter). One corrugated-cardboard-box-like item, however, still serves two purposes — as the brand name suggests — quite well for her.

... I'm home and I'm happy!
Miss Moneypenny is still very new to us and is settling in slowly. Her mannerisms are still to come out, but she does give us the most adoring look which basically says "Love me, stroke me, tickle me .... and feed me" :))
Maybe not strictly meeting the theme, but I hope you will accept it.
This Lillie‘s favourite place: our little wall in front of the house. Here she sometimes sits for hours watching neighbours, other cats, dogs, birds, the postman...
Often she would empty the drawer during the night...

Happy Caturday!
I accidently disturbed Princess' nap. Now she is sunbathing. This is one of her favorite spots in the house. Happy Caturday!!
I hope this qualifies for the everyday routines theme. I didn't see sunbathing on your list so I can take this out of the group if it's an issue. Thanks!!!
Stepping into the paw prints left by our beloved Snow White required something very special - and we found it all in Bastian...

I needed a picture of Mack with some flowers so put a treat at the top of some flowers in a pot. The intended picture in my mind was rather stunning but Mack instantly positioned himself facing away from me, knocked the kibble way down into the dirt and came with a mouth full of dirt and all over his face. The dirt on his face could have passed for humorous but the mouth full of dirt was almost gruesome looking. We'll just have to concentrate on the pretty flowers and Mack's cute ears!

Phoebe was a quiet, sweet girl and was the only constant in my life during a time that was full of change - both good and bad. She was an unusual combination of adventurous and cautious. I lived in an old house with other students when I first arrived in Princeton. She found that she could jump to tree branches or climb on the roof from the second floor bathroom window. I was horrified the first time I saw her on the roof and climbed out onto the roof myself to rescue her. Then one day I saw her jumping on the roof, calm as could be and then climb back in the window when she was ready. With people, it was a different story - she was very cautious. She never fully got used to George. She would sit at the top of the stairs where she could keep an eye on him from a safe distant and then, when he started to climb the stairs she watch him walk up one step at a time. She watched as long as she dared and then ran away just as he was about to reach the top step. She was most comfortable with him when he was sleeping - and then she felt free to investigate him practically nose to nose.

This is Sally and she was part of the litter the includes Fuzzy, Turtle and Molly. Sally died 18 mos ago at the age of 5. She also had cardiomyopathy. She was my son's favorite and he asked that I include her in the next archive. He picked out the picture to include.
The love between humans and animals is often expressed in the absolute trust they show us. Cats are so selective when it comes to giving complete love. This shot shows that love and trust between two of my 'boys' in a way words can never express. it is in those beautiful eyes and tender loving closeness.

Taking the opportunity to repost an image of our late Mr Linton for the archived theme.
Mr Linton was a hunter, always on the look out for prey in the garden and beyond. We had several 'gifts' brought to us and left of the patio with a look that just cried 'from me with love'
Forever missed and always loved
