My first photograph of a Monarch Caterpillar and the first photograph taken with a macro lens I purchased last month. Taken handheld but I have realised that I really need to use a tripod for these type of shots. There were several of these caterpillars munching on the milkweed at Gulf Shores butterfly garden.

This is the first Black Skimmer I have photographed. Taken at Dauphin Island.

He entertained me for a full 5 minutes while I was waiting for the Pelican release.

I'm posting this photo is honor of the beautiful Gulf Coast of Alabama. At this moment it's wildlife, it's beauty and the livelihood of many of it's residents are in danger of being adversely affected for years to come from the explosion of the BP off-shore oil well.

This is the first Waxwing I have photographed. Taken on Dauphin Island.
