A good friend & I were sitting in a particularly uncomfortable makeshift hide, in Hungary, when this shot was taken.
We were staking out a Little Owl nesting site at the time & I've posted some of the resulting shots earlier in my stream.
It was an incredibly hot afternoon & the fold-up chairs that my friend & I were using were beginning to bite here, as I recall.
There was also an unseen ants nest somewhere below me & the constant stream of winged queens climbing up my bare legs was an unexpected delight.
The lasting memory, however, was of the noise that these things were making all around the hide.
Probably not my favourite bird, to be fair.

Was at my friends ranch in Lockhart, Texas. I collect some of these Guinea Fowl feathers, thought it would look cool if I took a macro of the Guinea Feather. Came out rather nice, Hope Y'all like it too. ?. Lol: Gaston (aka Gasssman),
Thanks for your wonderful support on my work in the art of Photography.
A 'guinea grinder' is apparently a vernacular sandwich peculiar to central Iowa. I'm told there's a trend in local family-owned fast food shop to changing the name to just 'grinder,' but there are still several places that stick to the name. If you read the sign, you'll see this is the Home of Jennie's Original "State Fair" Guinea Grinder (which, I guess, distinguishes it from the non-State Fair version of Jennie's Original Guinea Grinder).
It's basically a sort of loose-meat sandwich made with Italian sausage ground with pepperoni and cooked with lots of spices, served on a sort of soft Italian loaf and topped with hot peppers and Monterey Jack cheese. It's really a rather good comfort food, though perhaps not as ethnically sensitive as most sandwiches.
