While waiting for the model to change Ted kept me amused with endless witty remarks.

A burger restaurant in Fremantle, photographed while on a photowalk with some friends earlier this year. The Silver Efex Pro 2 plugin for Adobe Photoshop from Google's Nik Collection was used for the black and white conversion.

I wasn't too keen on the colour version of this photo, and this black and white version reproduces the moody scene better than the colour version.

This was shot hand-held with my favourite lens, the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art series lens.

As seen on my blog.

Seen outside a restaurant which was shutting down for the night :)

A tasty, if rather lean burger, with a nice gamey flavour that I find quite appealing. Then again, I am partial to good kangaroo sausages and steaks.

Feeling seedy today. I think I need a healthy lunch. The wafts of sizzling beef patties started to sway me, but I stuck fast and went with a Bombay Bliss.

I was actually quite surprised how nice the chickpea pattie was. Despite looking rather dry, it was moist inside with a sprinkling of chickpea halves which gave it a bit of texture. The spicing was quite nice with a rather strong curry flavour. Unfortunately, the sweet relish didn't seem to go with the curry. Maybe next time, I'd get it without relish!

Today's herb chips were super chrunchy though, and extra golden!

I looked at someone and said, "So what letter did they leave out of 'perfect'?" She looked bewildered. Then she turned to her neice and said, "So what letter did they leave out of 'perfect'?" I hoped this would create a wave-like effect of hundreds of people asking the question.

Devil's advocate: maybe this just shows what sylable is supposed to be stressed, like in the dictionary... GRILLd PERfect. Or possibly this is a use of the apostrophe not even the grocers and mini-mart owners had conceived yet.

Hmm, regardless, it still looks really Stu'pid!

They sold 9 Coat of Arms burgers, including mine, in the 30 minutes that I was there.

Deliciously lean kangaroo & emu pattie, native thyme mayo, beetroot, quandongs, Meredith Dairy goats cheese, caramelised onion, mesculin, fresh tomato and tasty bush tomato relish.

There's a little bit of Australia in all of us. This Australia Day, make it a lot.

Good beefy burger made very juicy with all the vegetables. Fantastic chips that were well browned and crunchy, and the herbed salt was full of herbs, including rosemary, thyme , and sage.

I like to mix it up at Grill'd, and so today, I got the Morroccan Lamb burger.

... except, something was missing! where's the beef? uh lamb? Of course I took it back!

The lamb, when I fonally got it, was quite tasty, although the meat was a tad stringy. Probably best to have lamb in spring. The roasted red peppers and garlicky tzatziki was nice with the lamb too.

I've been social recently and out for a few meals with other sketchers - and drawing food,

Almost everyone craves a burger now and then, but too often I felt compelled to abstain. I’d complain to friends that I could rarely find a burger that didn’t make me feel heavy & bloated. Most agreed and eventually a good friend (sick of my whining) told me to put up or shut up. It was in that pub that the idea of Grill’d was born.
