Rivers…and mornings. Rivers…and evenings. Not just to be near them, but to be in them – like, just about Lingam deep. Water flows around you, pushes at you, warms you, cools you, massages you, soothes you.
It’s what water does. ~ View On Black
Smell that? What is that? Oh, it's nature; not City. Hear that....?
www.youtube.com/watch?v=88yDgm6TFes - Chet Atkins, "Sunrise"
Usually when the sun is coming up, there won’t be many other humans around. Especially on a weekday morning. They’re having coffee, or in the car, or on the train, or the bus – heading for the "jay.ooh.bee."
But, it ain’t like you’re all alone out here - in the water. You have company. Lingering stars, a rising sun, a sky changing colors, clouds coming or going, the moon (in one mood or another) saying goodnight, mammals going on the wee morning’s hunt or coming off the night one, a fish splashing here or there - chasing after some minnows or bugs skittering across the surface.
Then again, maybe they are all just moving because it feels so darn good to be alive.
It is all…so reaffirming; to be out here. You really feel as if you know how our ancestors felt over thousands of years - when waking up wasn’t quite as sure a thing as it is today. When everyone was lucky simply to open their eyes - awakening to the hopes and dreams and dangers of a new day.
Same thing at sunset, except for at twilight, you get to look back and thank your God that you made it through another day safely. (The end of the day is guaranteed. How it ends for any one of us, is not.)
Either way, whether it is come dawn or come sunset, you know that of the thousands you may have seen, no two beginnings or endings were ever quite alike. There is reason to rejoice in that. And, as you are wade in the river, and feel the water flowing around you, and pressing up against you, you also know, that you have never stepped into the same water twice.
Every time you step into a river, see that moon, watch those clouds, breathe in that humid air, twinkle back at the stars, or hear animals rustling about, is a chance to be completely renewed.

~ about me ~
Enjoy reading this quote:
“I am Me. In all the world, there is no one else exactly like me. Everything that comes out of me is authentically mine, because I alone chose it -- I own everything about me: my body, my feelings, my mouth, my voice, all my actions, whether they be to others or myself. I own my fantasies, my dreams, my hopes, my fears. I own my triumphs and successes, all my failures and mistakes. Because I own all of me, I can become intimately acquainted with me. By so doing, I can love me and be friendly with all my parts. I know there are aspects about myself that puzzle me, and other aspects that I do not know -- but as long as I am friendly and loving to myself, I can courageously and hopefully look for solutions to the puzzles and ways to find out more about me. However I look and sound, whatever I say and do, and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time is authentically me. If later some parts of how I looked, sounded, thought, and felt turn out to be unfitting, I can discard that which is unfitting, keep the rest, and invent something new for that which I discarded. I can see, hear, feel, think, say, and do. I have the tools to survive, to be close to others, to be productive, and to make sense and order out of the world of people and things outside of me. I own me, and therefore, I can engineer me. I am me, and I am Okay.”

Goodnight sun... take our dreams with you ... And bring them back tommorow, brighter, wearing a new colorful dress. As we are all daydreamers. And every night we feel so lonely... But please... watch out the clouds. They may steal them from you. And turn our dreams to rain into our hearts.

Neverland is a place in my imagination, a quiet corner far from the city where cows graze and crickets sing all day. Neverland, is a place where dead poets write their words and artists echo their voices. Neverland is a place that sits in our hearts along with beauty and poetry. So, if you have a heart you know where Neverland is. If you don't, don't bother to look for it, you will never find it.

Well, I figured my 365 wouldn't be complete without at least one photo of my Christmas tree. This artificial tree is a "hand-me-down" given to me from my parents two years ago when they decided to go with a new pre-lit. Funny thing about that is they used their new pre-lit tree for the first time last year and now this year the lights don't work on it! Well, that was a waste...so my dad had to go out and bought strings of lights for their tree. Meanwhile, I still have the hand-me-down they gave away. ;) It is pretty old but still in great shape. I can still remember the day my mom and I went to the garden centre store to buy it. I was in my early teenage years....so that was almost 30 years ago. Geez, I am getting old!!! I remember my mom fell in love with this tree but hated the price for it which was around $300. That was a lot for a fake tree back in those days but she bought it anyways. We used to go out to the woods with my dad and get a real tree to cut down and take home but my dad had a tendency of picking out skinny "Charlie Brown" trees. My mom was tired of those sickly looking trees (I am convinced my dad used to get them as a joke lol) and the fact that they eventually looked even worse as the holiday wore on because the needles would fall off and make such a mess...so that was her reason for buying this fake tree....now my fake tree...I still love it...the fancy new pre-lit trees can stay at the store as I have no need for buying one anytime soon...fa la la la la la la la la!!!...wait, that is a totally different Christmas carol...have a goodnight everyone!

Airlie Beach's TIDAL MYSTERIES REVEALED!!!: At low tide in Boat Haven bay, a wide expanse of glimmering sand fills with intriguing channels, shallows and ripples. Here the waves toss and retreat until the whole expanse is an exceptional ever-changing canvas of mysterious shapes and rivulet lines. Currently, this whole region is under threat from lax policies which permit cargo-tankers to voyage through fragile vulnerable Reef waters, rather than remain seaward!!!

My mother used to tell me stories at bedtime. One night in particular she told me the story of "Jack And The Bean Stalk". I listened with rapt attention as she told of magic beans.
"Oh I wish I had magic beans," I squealed. My mother, never one to be out done said, "We have beans. Would you like to plant them?"
"Oh yes." So she went to the kitchen took a handful of soup peas and handed them to me. She carried me outside and I tossed the beans.
She finished the story, kissed me goodnight and turned off the light. I don't think she was gone 2 minutes before I started screaming. She came back into the room and I stammered to her, "Th the giant will come down and eat me." "No, no she," countered, "The beans won't grow that fast." "Yes the will, they're magic beans." "Daddy will cut down the bean stalk." she said. "It will keep on growing." I wailed.
For the next several nights my poor father went out into the yard and stood waiting for this bean stalk to sprout so he could chop it down.
Mommy never did read me stories unless she read and reread them over and over to make sure I couldn't come up with something that would terrify me.
Isn't it strange how fairy tales are so frightening. I mean a wicked step mother. Witches who put beautiful girls into towers and let their hair grow so they could climb up them.
Joey was a great little guy to tell stories too, the more frightening they were the more he loved them. He thought of nightmares as great adventures you had when you were sleeping.
I wish you all beautiful dreams. :)
