Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature's first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf's a flower;

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay.

~ Robert Frost~

To Read About What I am Wearing ->

I was greeted by this site as I left my subdivision looking at the golf course across the street

I had a really lovely walk with my son and daughter last Friday to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday. We followed a route that I designed for the book I was writing (until my publishers pulled out) that took in this hill in Dorset, made famous by the Hovis advert many years ago. At the top of the hill, there is a tea room with outside tables and this is the view we had as we sat with our afternoon tea. What better place can there be for a cuppa?

Osserva dove vaga la tua mente e sostituisci i pensieri negativi con quelli positivi. Il sole splende sempre in qualche parte della tua vita. ....

That fence again, lit by the Marbella rooftop shopping complex lights while the sun rises in the background. The rooftop is a big pedestrian area providing a viewing area of the Mediterranean shore.

This garden is situated on the other side of the city. We visit it quite seldom unfortunately. And every time the sky is gloomy. But this time we found the stillness and the most attractive colors of the autumn. I tried to represent the atmosphere making a panorama (12 shots without tripod).

Thank you for all your comments and favs, my friends.

This location has been well photographed over the years and is famous for being part of a Hovis television advert during the 1970's. It has also featured in the film Far From the Madding Crowd written by Thomas Hardy.

Gold Hill is a busy tourist attraction and many of the houses are Grade II listed buildings which gives them legal protection from development and change thereby maintaining the character of the area.

Have a nice Sunday my friends :)

Gold Hill is a steep cobbled street in the town of Shaftesbury in the English county of Dorset.

on the way home...I took several Raw photos to use them as HDR. This time I just gave some more light to the darkest one of this series and refrained from using a HRD - Program

So on this day the weather was poor and there was alot of rain about. But I decided to try my luck and I was happy that I did as the sun made an appearance for a few seconds before hiding behind the clouds.
