I didn't get too many good sunrises on my Trip along the Great Ocean Road. This however was a particularly stunning one with a patchy covering of high cloud which lit up over the Gibson Steps.
Finally, the first properly edited photo from my film collection. I think it is a nice photo, not sure whether to have kept the colour in the clouds or turned everything a cool blue with the nice orange/yellow sea stacks.
When editing film for so long, you get to know the intricate details of the shot, and what people might be looking at if they had it on their wall. I like the rain cloud, not perfectly symmetrical, but lighting up the water pink, the rocks floating on the surface of the water, the dark lines through both sea stacks which must have been a sediment layer, and the little rock below the large sea stack that helps balance it.
This film is great... I have a 100inch panoramic photo I could print that size without resampling it. Film is amazing!
I took this photo after sunset overlooking Gibsons Steps on the Great Ocean Road 18 months ago. I wasn't really happy with it at the time but decided to revisit it yesterday and put it through my current photoshop workflow. Now it's probably one of my favourites :) I may have to revisit some more oldies soon :)
An old cotton mill in West Yorkshire near the town of Hebden Bridge. It's also a great walk through the woodland in this part of the southern Pennines. (the sky and its reflection are all fake of course. The weather was glooooooomy today!)
After a long night of shooting astro, I had packed my camera gear up and was heading back to my faithful Land Rover Defender. I gazed towards the East and could see some interesting clouds coming my way, so it was a race against time, and some young Wallabies, as I drove 20km away to the Twelve Apostles Visitor Centre.
As I jogged down to the viewing platform, I set the camera up in the nick of time to take this photo. Then, with the snap of a finger, it was all over.
Had a little trip out to Teesdale this afternoon and thought it would be a waste to not get some shots while there.
A very busy tourist hotspot at the 12 Apostles viewing area. The cliffs are a very impressive 50 metres tall. The sun was rising somewhere behind all those clouds!

The Gibson Steps are an area of cliffs on the south coast of Australia, located at 38°40′06″S 143°06′43″E. The cliffs are the first sightseeing stopoff in Port Campbell National Park for travellers heading West along the Great Ocean Road, located about 2 minutes drive from The Twelve Apostles. The name Gibson Steps refers to the staircase leading down to the stretch of beach shown to the right

Gibson's Steps Beach Great Ocean Road I've already posted the water motionless image. I'm wondering if people thing the subtle water motion adds or detracts from the image. Let the votes speak for the popular verdict! Personally mine is for the previous simpler image seen here : ift.tt/OFrkT5 [Deviant Art Gallery] [Facebook] [Web Gallery] [Flickr] [G+] via 500px ift.tt/1fUAQvs
This iconic location on the great ocean road is a must shoot. We'd shot some other locations before this so had missed the morning light slightly by the time we got to them but they still looked great and were a lot of fun to shoot.

This picture was taken in the very early morning just before the sun was rising!
At first i wasn't quite sure what the orange glow on the horizon was because when i arrived it was flickering like there was a fire out on the ocean. After doing some research i'm pretty sure it's an offshore oil/gas rig in bass strait.
Hope you enjoy! Thanks for looking....

Not so easy to capture landscape and the stars at the same time but here goes
