Un-restored Area of Grand Central Ceiling - January 2008

Sculpture- Chatham beach (Cape Code MA) - ~40 degrees out and slightly windy - great beach for the summer.

First day back to school after Christmas Vacation

The new Encore Building in downtown Nashville.

Just yesterday, I was obsessed to find a 366 or 2008 house number to post, but my legs gave up after walking uphill on 2nd Avenue. The 100 address block of 2nd Avenue spans several city blocks, so that nipped the quest in a hurry.

Glastonbury High School bench - blue is the school color - photographed on my morning walk around the school. The bench is by the entrance to the gym and was most likely a gift from a graduating senior class.

The Fox Glacier, New Zealand

I was home sick as a dawg on tuesday, so I'm playing catchup.

If I was still a kid, I would get in my pajamas with the Batman bed sheets. Seeing these sheets in a store front window brought back some memories.

I got a twofer today; I saw this Johnny Cash wall. There was some heavy duty construction of a high rise behind me, so I couldn't get any good angles of the full wall.

Casting my shadow from a long day at O'Hara

When I was a young kid, being a fireman or policeman was a noble calling. Teachers, doctors and nurses too. To this day, I still believe that.

Westbrook Technologies - great building

Brrr, it was cold when I took this photo - normally the downtown parking lot is jammed with customers. But since it was so cold - 19 degrees - the lot was empty. Thus I was able to get a closeup.

This morning on the way into work, I had to take a detour to get to my parking space. Out of the corner of eye, I spotted a painted wall that was unusual. Unusual in the sense that it wasn't defaced with spray painted graffiti. So at lunch time, I trudged up to hill 1/2 mile away to see what caught my eye:

Testing out a Verizon Broadbandconnect card

I've always wanted to build one of these architectural models... Since youth, I built hundreds of model cars and consider myself a SimCity addict. Wouldn't it be cool to spend a summer building one of these? Of course the heartache would come parting with a labor of love.

The model is the new Encore Building in downtown Nashville.

After a spur of the moment visit to Home Depot, we've finally finished of the 1/2 bath with cabinets over the toilet and a mirrored medicine cabinet. The sink, bead board, trim, baseboard and new tile was done last year. Felt great to wander the aisles at Home Depot once again. As a carpenter, I'm always in the mood to build something.

On a cold wet day, a wet blanket might do somebody good...

After years of lusting after always on Internet, I bit the bullet and bought a Verizon Broadbandconnect Expresscard. Yes, Verizon has the terrifying 5GB monthly data cap - but so far I've yet to crack 20mb and view this as a backup data connection. I'm also subscribed to T-Mobile's wifi for times when I need a solid 1.2mb connection.
