This gate is one of the thirteen gates of Lahore. The gates around the city of Lahore were built by the third Mughal Emperor Akbar in the mid 1600s. These thirteen gates provided access to the city of Lahore which was once enclosed within a thirty feet high fortified wall, built by the same Mughal emperor. The wall is no more today.
Delhi Gate, situated on the east of Walled City was named so because it faces Delhi, which was the capital of the Mughal Empire. During the Mughal era, and even some time later, this gate remained the main entrance to the city of Lahore. The royal entourages and the common people used this gate which leads into the city. All the gates of the Walled City of Lahore were demolished during the British era. A circular road and circular garden, which still exist today, was built after the grand demolition. Other facts affirm that the bricks of the wall were used in constructing the Railway Station of Lahore by Mian Sultan, a contractor of the British era. Somehow, only the gates were reconstructed in early 1900’s by the British.

The future belong to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
See that white post in the lower left foreground? As I was setting up my tripod for this bridge shot I noticed a dark object fly past and land on that pole. Thought to myself "has to be an owl", it was 10pm. I figured it was a GHOW, but when I put my flashlight on it, it was a Short-eared Owl. I took a few long exposure shots with it illuminated before it flew off to hunt. Pretty crazy to see a SEOW in the Bay Area in June!
Iron Gate shot in Charleston, SC I think, beautiful old building with ornamental iron fence, shot on film, in South Carolina.

The iconic Golden Gate Bridge from the shore of Marshall's Beach in San Francisco, California. I've never met a bridge I didn't like, and this was no exception. I've had so many short business trips to San Francisco but never got around to bringing a camera. So glad I did!

Remnants of lives past...
There used to be a stone-built barn here. It was disused for many years and eventually demolished. For a long time there was just a heap of masonry, old posts and parts of metal gates etc.
A couple of straggly trees grew amongst the rubble, plus nettles, grasses etc. The sheep did not graze this patch.
Recently the old masonry was "picked through", one of the trees disappeared, and the old metal gate. Now just one small tree remains among the overgrown stones.
Taken in the fields above my house, Lower Lune Valley.
THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT AND FAVES
ON THE REACTIONS I WILL TRY TO RESPOND BACK
