Looks like winter has hit us, it is snowing like crazy here. Have a great day everyone

Okay we've all done it. Gone for a walk in last nights party dress, cos you can't find your hotel room, come across a set of gates mysteriously set in the middle of a forest with the ornate gasslamp standing in front of it and what do we do, run a mile or........

Welcome to Gates of Destiny, a place I've created over the last weeks. And although its not finished yet, you are welcome to visit if you like.

A few weeks ago I was in San Francisco talking to the Photoshop users group at the Adobe center. Here is the famous bridge with some good old rust and concrete.

I love a 5 bar gate

Everyone comes here in search of light.

thank you all for viewing it and i am humbled with your love. thanks again.

I have taken many images of this property. It's getting difficult to find a new composition, but I don't think I've taken the gate before. If fact, I hadn't even noticed the gate before. I stopped the car and got out, saw the gate, realized the car was in the way for getting a good picture of it, moved the car and this is the result.

A picture I took last week in Gosford Forest park, Northern Ireland. Loved the colours behind the gate and thought it looked quite symbolic.

These stained glass gates command attention... I have been wanting to photograph them for a long time. This is the first time I've seen them at nightfall...

I had this ready to post quite a while ago, but Life got in the way...

A gate is a point of entry to a space enclosed by walls, or an opening in a fence. Gates may prevent or control entry or exit, or they may be merely decorative. Other terms for gate include yett and port.

Larger gates can be used for a whole building, such as a castle or fortified town, or the actual doors that block entry through the gatehouse. Today many gate doors are opened by an automated gate operator
