Duck End Mill was built in the mid eighteenth century, dates of 1756, 1760 1773 and 1777 being recorded in the mill. It was originally built as an open trestle mill, the roundhouse being added in 1840. The mill was insured for £50 in 1790 and £100 in 1794. The mill was working until c. 1890, and had an all wood windshaft to the last. This was replaced by the cast iron one from Gainsford End Mill, Toppesfield in the 1950s

It's always nice to see deckers out working on midi routes, and for the month the temporary 16 service operates, it's a daily occurrence!!

Amazing what you can find running round on your own doorstep sometimes!!

New in 1997 to Nottingham City Transport for the 12 between Wolds Estate, West Bridgford, Nottingham, QMC and Beeston and also the 90 between Edwalton, West Bridgford, Nottingham, Sherwood, Redhill and Arnold, their careers at Nottingham were relatively short-lived, lasting just up until 2006.

The final colour it was branded for here was Brown Line for the 15 and 16, which back then, the 15 was completely different, running up Old Farm Road, Ridgeway (pictured), Bestwood Park Drive, Chippenham Road, Edwards Lane and then onto Arnold Road to pick up the route today via Gainsford Crescent into Nottingham.

R474RRA is seen on Ridgeway on the S21 to Top Valley Tesco via Warren Wood and Rise Park Estate, back on proper home turf.
