This is a recipe that I found online and then tweaked to make extra healthy. We love a sweet but are trying to cut back on the bad stuff. These are really satisfying;)


Here's the recipe...

Cream together:

1/4 cup melted butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

1 egg

After creaming together add:

1 cup all purpose flour

1/2 cup whole wheat flour

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup quick cook oats

1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 cup raisins minced

1/4 cup walnuts minced

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp nutmeg

After mixing together drop spoonfuls of cookies on parchment lined cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 10-15 minutes.

Store in airtight container so they stay chewy:)

Make 24 small or a dozen medium cookies!

6-14: Girls bake healthy fruit and nut cookies for us and our neighbors

This was a very busy weekend. First GFWC-WMWC Annual Cup Of Cheer; I sang lots of Christmas Carols 9:00am to 3;00pm. We did laundry in between. Then there was the Parade Saturday Night at Six thirty. Then Sunday we had church youth Sunday, A Pot Blessings with lots of homemade delicious food afterwards We went on a Hayride and Sang Christmas Carols around the neighborhood of Concho AZ. We came back and had dessert of Sweet Potatoe Pie with whip cream, Pineapple cake, carrot cake, apple pie and my Pumpkin Oatmeal Fruit and Nut cookies. It was a Blessed and extremely busy first week in Dec. Whew!
