I love this! I am extremely proud of it!

Common Frog {Rana temporaria}

Spotted this little chap in my wildlife pond today, there was crocking going on, maybe spring is in the air?

Nature is lovely !

Its amazing how they return every year, I love Frogs !

Frogs can't swallow so they push their insect food down using their large eyes to help.

Therefore frogs must shut their eyes when eating!

Frogs are really interesting little amphibians and I love them in my garden!

Before you find your handsome prince, you've got to kiss a lot of frogs.

P.S: Probably this is a real prince...Give it a kiss, will ya?

Desert Tree Frog (Litoria rubella)

--Taken shortly before the previous image of this guy, but I edited the capture date so it appears above it in the photo stream purely so it makes a checked pattern. Unfortunately that doesn't show up on either the app or mobile website, so you'll just have to imagine it.

Another frog image from a couple of days ago.

Taken during a macro shoot with long time friend and fellow flickr tog Joe Micallef at Hunter Botanic Gardens (Heatherbrae, NSW; Australia).

This little fella was kind enough to pose in a spot that allowed us to get close and personal with him!

Hope you like this!!

Thanks for any comments, views or favorites - much appreciated!!

Have a wonderful day and week everyone!

Well after waiting for a good deal on a new laptop I finally bit the bullet and got one. I have been operating on a laptop I bought for my kids that didn't have much space or power and had no access to any of my pictures before 2018 until I recovered them on the new machine today. It is so nice to have plenty of room for all my pictures again and to have a faster machine to review and edit images with. I am going to start posting some pics from last year that I never got around to posting like this frog from Costa Rica.

Billiant Forest Frog - (Lithobates Warszewitschii) found on a daytime hike at the CRARC (Costa Rica Amphibian Research Center).

The common frog is found throughout much of Europe as far north as northern Scandinavia.

Adult common frogs will feed on any invertebrate of a suitable size, although they do not feed at all during the breeding season.

Outside the breeding season, common frogs live a solitary life in damp places near ponds or marshes or in long grass.

Common along permanent streams in the southwest, these frogs are usually found on the rocks and gravel in and along the water (rather than trees, as their name would imply), and their pebbly camouflage is ridiculously good. I only spotted this one because it jumped -- and it jumped because my dad didn't see it either and nearly stepped on it!

Poolside visitor.

a smaller frog - or is it further away?

One of the little guys that lives in a hanging flower basket.

Night before last I went into the kitchen and saw a "lump" on the floor. Lights were off. I immediately thought spider but then was freaked because it was big for a spider. I turned on the light and it was a tree frog, in the kitchen! I caught him. What a squirmer. I could hardly keep hold of him. Any spot of light through my fingers and he was trying to get through. I managed to get him outside safely. I'm guessing he was on me after my yard work that day.

This frog was in the wilderness corner of the back yard one day as I was looking for something (likely a wildflower) to photograph. He seemed not to mind the lens thrust so close and stayed there until I had taken several pictures and likely stayed after I had moved on.

Been busy with other things lately and not much time to play on flicker. Hopefully after the autumn chores are done I can get some to scan some old pictures and upload some we've taken over the past while.

True macro, not cropped. This frog is very calm and let's me get very close!

''There are two more pictures in the comment boxes.''

It was only a small one so was a little tricky to take pictures of.

What are you all thinking of the new flickr layout im really not a fan :/

Crabtree Nature Center

A froglet with real attitude. After the harshness of the winter when I found several dead frogs it's great to see so many new animals to take their place. Must be at least 30 in my little pond at the moment - all hiding on lily pads to escape the heat.

A little frog between the leaves.

He enjoy the morning Sun.
