at The Secret Garden in Tower Hill Botanic Garden

The threats of the Pelophylax perezi are the loss of habitat by desiccation of water masses, construction and building and the excessive contamination of the waters. The introduction of alien species such as American bullfrog is a theat too. Hybridization with Pelophylax ridibundus and Pelophylax lessonae is a genetic contamination. In addition, the hybrid of P. perezi x P. ridibundus, Pelophylax kl. Grafi, can displace and make the parental species disappear, since it is much more fertile and viable.

Found a 3 legged frog in the garden today, didn't stop him being super fast to hop or hinder him catching food looking at the size of him! :D

A frog in my backyard. I think it's a baby tree frog. They only come out a night and are about the size of a dime. Sigma 150 macro and Nikon R1 flash via CLS.

In the alligator section of the zoo, I shot this photo of a frog. No idea what type it is. Green, I'd say.

Seen in my garden tonight, lovely sight, I've missed them for a while.

Plop, plop... that's a small frog waking me up, and sitting right here on the bedside table.

Nice to see the froggies are back out.

We have a small garden with a stand-a-lone water cascade. We are pleased it is occupied.

A sure sign that Spring is coming as the frogs return to the garden pond.

The little frog from Costa Rica laugh, but nobody knows why

Red-eyed Tree Frog

He's either pregnant or just fat. This one wasn't moving for at least 10 minutes before it almost jumped against my lens.

I have only seen a few of these guys this year. Two years ago while standing in the marsh, I counted about a dozen within a five foot radius.

This is the elusive Pig Frog. It is often heard in the marsh and swamps, but it is rarely seen. It sounds like a pig.

Well the frogs are about in the garden so I guess spring is really here. This little creature certainly looks in great shape

As for the new Flickr….. well to be fair they have addressed many of the issues around functionality that people raised with them. I think users need to give it a try for a while before they abandoned ship. I actually think the new photo page looks OK and you can see images full size and the image quality is good. Having said that for the next four weeks I will stay in the old mode by using the French version. I am in countdown mode for retirement and for a trip to the USA and consequently I am very busy. So I will make a fresh start when I get back to England when finally I may have more time

On holiday in Koh Samui, Thailand.. Oh i wish I could go back.. Anyway, set up a Canon G2 I had at the time, focusing on one point in a little pond around our swimming pool. About an hour later this little fellow popped up and posed for the camera...
