The children do not know to sleep in on vacation. In fact they wake up much earlier than usual when not in their own beds.
Lucky me. I was up early enough to catch the fog this morning. It was lovely. We do not get enough fog in my neck of the woods. Not nearly enough.

At a day at the beach, the weather was beautiful until a sea fog enveloped the sunbathers in the space of a couple of minutes.
These tracks are right behind where I work in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and a train goes by just about every hour. I've always meant to clamber up there someday to take photos (it's on a raised embankment).
This morning when I got off work (just before dawn) it was wonderfully foggy outside. I knew the time had come! :-)
Alas, as I was climbing the embankment a train passed which I failed to get shots of. So I had to stand there in the fog an entire hour for the next one to come along. But that turned out to be a blessing. The sun was starting to rise by the time this train came into view, and so, instead of train headlights against a mostly black background, I got this image: orange headlights and dark shapes emerging from a deep blue mist.
Travelling towards Lyndhurst, from Hythe, the fog was really thick but the other side of the town was almost clear!
