Backstory:
I find inspiration for iphoneography in all sorts of people, places, and situations. A friend of mine is going through some difficult work-related emotions. Having her on my mind while walking through the kitchen one evening, I noticed my daughter's umbrella. "That's an idea," I thought. Gathering the trusty white sheet (for the backdrop), iPhone, and the umbrella, I scurry to the basement for the shot. The intention is to use the umbrella as a means of protection, because there is no means of escape. No door, no birdcage, or sizable fireplace will save my friend from her work dilemma.
As I provide this backstory for such a simple yet so meaning-filled image, I'm smiling. Those of us intoxicated with photography and storytelling via imagery, completely understand. In all these words, what I am trying to say is that iPhoneography offers an imaginative outlet for emotional expression. That in and of itself is a delight.

Can you see me?
- I know it is dark.
I am here.
- My arms are open.
Do you want to come closer?
- My heart pulls inward.
When you are ready...
- My love is unconditional.

Backstory:
I wanted to create a storytelling image. After deciding to use a neutral background, I gathered a white sheet, iPhone, tripod, and remote shutter. I've been using the garage for a makeshift studio, as of late. I made a couple of trips in and out of the space, until I had all the goodies strategically placed. I found a black dress, in the closet, and thought it felt right. I slipped into it, peeled off my socks, and made the last trip to the garage. This creative gathering is all part of the process.
This is image was one of the last ones taken, during this creative time. I set the remote shutter to capture multiple shots. I gathered the sheet, from the floor, and twirled in a small circle. The motion was captured and the play was complete.
Mobile photography offers such a generous platform on which to share such spiritual, storytelling imagery. I'm intoxicated, true story.

... I would like to think that I've left seeds of inspiration. It's a simple want. It's a spiritual need.
I couldn't sleep tonight. Work was stressful and the hours seemed like days.
Backstory: This image was taken with my iphone5 and originally processed in several apps including: camera+, mextures, and focal lab. I opened the image in Corel Painter X3 tonight and went from there. There's never a real plan. I think that's the allure for me ... the adventure of 'not knowing' and the relaxation in the 'unknown' ... if that makes any sense.
I'm calling it a night, my flickr friends. Sweet dreams. I hope you are with the ones you love most tonight. xo

... she loves to dance, sing, and twirl with the vibrations of music.
Backstory: A dear friend of mine (Jordan) is always supportive of my love of photography and all things artful. Her passion is music. We work together and often have the opportunity to share life stories. She mentioned that her grandfather not only played all instruments but he also crafted instruments by hand: including violins, guitars, mandolins, banjos, and a few others. I am always on the lookout for peculiar and/or unique things with which to include in my photography. I asked if she would share one of the handmade instruments with me to satisfy my creative muse. Knowing that I wanted to create something special for her (Jordan), much thought went into creating this piece.
Families are special. Our friends are special. When we can share our love of art, in order to touch the lives of others, together we become special. Thanks for all the photography love. I am very appreciative.
Apps used in creating Jordan's Song include:
iPhone5
Camera+ -- I use this app most often when shooting. The quality is fantastic and it easily works with my remote shutter. Within this app, I crop the image to a square (my favorite size with which to work), select Backlit under the scene selection, and select Retro then Ansel under the filter selection.
Noiseware -- This is my favorite app to remove unwanted noise and it just brings a soft clarity to the photograph.
FocalLab -- I selected Motion Blur, within this app, to give the shot some movement.
Mextures -- I selected Emulsion. I used a mixture of Jefferson and Tesla … you can move them around and land where you feel like you are satisfied with the results.
I believe that's it. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I am always pleased to share artful works and tips with others.
If you create a piece, after sharing these steps, I would love to see your work. Feel free to tag me in or let me know, so I can see your goodies.
Hugs!
Angie
