An attempt to try and capture the façade of this train station in a slightly different way, not an easy task as this area has been photographed so many times. It is a challenging area to get a good exposure as the lights on the front just above the arch are really bright and the sign at the top right is extremely bright and can sometimes dominate the image and is hard to keep out of the frame.
finally got out down to the coast to get some shots. has been almost two months since iv been able to get out and drive a bit to different spots. all was going good in till i got my shutter remote out. batteries where flat... and i was needing some long exposures because it was quite sunny. in the end i took batteries out of the remote and put it in the receiver which works just like a shutter release, just had to hold the button down for the duration of the shot.
this shot was taken down at flinders. thanks for viewing.
I went down to this location to shoot some sunrise shots but unfortunately, the sun never came. Switched instead to long exposures and got lucky when this bird landed on the old posts. To get the bird in the shot, I blended two exposures. Deliberately decided to break the rule of thirds here as wanted to keep the sky but focus on the inverted triangle the shadows of the posts were creating in the waters reflection.
It's always miserable and rainy when I photograph from here. On St Kilda Rd looking toward Swanston St and the city skyline
I Have just upgraded my camera, Kalsang wanted to use my old 400D.
This is the result of her first attempt at photography.
Another shot from White Nights. This was as far as I got along Flinders Street as from here on was gridlock. We were stuck here for about 10 minutes.

The Principal of Light
Light gives of itself freely, filling all available space. It does not seek anything in return; it asks not whether you are friend or foe. It gives of itself and is not thereby diminished. ~Michael Strassfeld
