The view to the houses (rorbuer huts) we lived in from the opposite hill.
The image was taken in the middle of the so-called night:-)
Thank you for all your comments and favs.
While traveling around Kvaløya island, we came across this beautiful scenery.
Kvaløya, aka as "Whale Island", is an island in the Norwegian municipality of Tromsø.
Kvaløya is a mountainous island, with at least ten mountains higher than 2,300 ft and three reaching an elevation of more than 3,300.
There are also several small fjords, almost dividing the island in two or three parts: Kaldfjorden, Ersfjorden, and Kattfjorden.

During the ice ages, deep valleys and narrow inlets filled with ocean water, creating the natural wonders that the modern world often refers to as fjords. Although there are many fjords across the globe, the ones that grace the Norwegian coastline reign as the most popular because of their astonishing beauty. Hundreds of cruise ships bring tourists to Norway every year to experience these marvelous inlets. However, the mountains and villages surrounding the Norwegian fjords also offer many incredible sights and adventures.

Image taken during a hike in the amazing Borgarfjördur Eystri in North East Iceland. The graveled road that leads into the secluded Fjord can be seen. Borgarfjördur is famous for its hiking trails, but it also is the home of the Queen of the Icelandic Elves!
Hjørundfjorden to be exact. It was a great day for it. Bright sun and no wind. Probably not a good day for photography but having travelled from the other side of the world one doesn't complain. Thanks for visiting this fjord with me near Alesund in Norway.
"Fjord of Light"
Shot this last night nov.20th in Ersfjord, a 20min drive from Tromsø, northern Norway.
Last night the sky was filled with strong auroras, and even if this shot was far from the one with the strongest auroras I choose to post this one as I liked to overall feeling to it.
Hope you agree, and feel free to share it if you like it.

Again the killer combo: Canon 1DX+Nikon 14-24 :)
Best,

Prior to heading further north with the Lofoten as final destination, a few more pictures of the Norwegian fjords. Here, Aurlandsfjord captured from Stegastein. Unfortunately one of those days with pretty boring light! More on Norway at www.flickr.com/photos/132192297@N04/albums/72157655975010102.
