I loved photographing the bad winter ... but I enjoy looking at the shots from the warmth and sunshine of May. In March it felt like the winter would never end - but now I can look back at the stark beauty of it.

Rows and rows of vines and fences at a vineyard in Healdsburg, CA.
The grape vines are pruned back during the winter and remain dormant until spring...which may come early this year with temperatures in the 70’s this week.

Tough one to get the horizon straight in this as you can imagine.. one of my favourite shots from the series.. description as follows..
An old wooden fence bows over in the frost of an early winters morning. the grass is also frosty and as we look through the image , past the bare leafless trees we see the sun rising over a lake and its distant islands.. Light and shadows are the primary key in this photo.
