Happy Fence Friday!

In the course of looking for a poem or quote about fences I came across Robert Frost's 1915 poem "The Mending Wall" in which the narrator exhorts his neighbour not to build a fence between their properties. His neighbour can only reply "Good fences make good neighbours".

Too often that one line is quoted to justify the building of fences ... or walls... when in fact the poem is really a diatribe against the building of walls or other things that separate us from our neighbours. Food for thought.

Have A Bright Weekend!

Fence Friday or Bench Monday..;) I guess I can recycle it on Monday..;) This is one of Austin's newer bus stops. The city has been upgrading the bus stops in hopes that more people will start using them. When I lived in Austin I would sometimes use the bus just for cheap entertainment. An older lady got on one day and she was bleeding from a cut on the nose. She said her room mate hit her, female. I had a small first aid kit in my back pack and doctors her up. She told me about a new soup kitchen that hardly anyone knew about..:)

Its Friday again - and for the second week running I'm observing Fence Friday :)!

Hope you all have a great weekend.

I've noticed a lot of you doing your 'fence fridays' shots. I've never done one but instantly thought of it when I saw this fence. So . . .

This is a fence at the highway off ramp. You can kinda see the blur of the mountain in the background. Plus many textures

HFF!

We are back ... I shall endeavour to catch up with all of your postings made in my absence. Vancouver was wet but wonderful and it was good to get out of the 'deep freeze' of Keefer Lake if only for a short while.

This photo is of the same fence as the one in the previous post.

thanks to Lenabem-Anna for the texture

It seems the world has changed her garment.

but it is I who have not crossed the fence,

So there I lie.

HFF to all.

I have been teaching my daughter about photography, light and the golden hour since I did my last 365 project. She has been using my old I-phone to take pictures and we were supposed to go out yesterday during the golden hour to practice but we missed it. She loves the long shadows that the sun casts late in the afternoon but I showed her that we can still take pictures even right after the sun has just set.

This was taken in my garden looking towards the sun that was setting.

Happy Fence Friday!

I really might delete this latah. S'not settling with me.

This scene caught my eye at the allotment. I love catkins, an early sign of spring. These were bright lime green against the dark blue fence. HFF!

An old fence, sagebrush and sunshine. Three of my favourite things at the moment. :-)
