294 fence posts and 12 strainer posts enclose my field on Dunnet Head, Caithness. Many are lichen encrusted.

I’d previously made a pressed herbarium, documenting the plants growing on my 6.5 acres, in Dunnet on Dunnet Head, the most northerly point on the UK mainland, and now, I’m looking again at my field with fresh eyes, at lichens.

We were BBQ'ing in the back yard, when Bryan heard some fireworks being setoff nearby. He quickly scaled the fence, and perched himself on this 6"x6" post, so he could have an eagle's-eye view of fireworks being set off in celebration of pioneer day.

While in the Cairns area, I stayed out at Yorkeys Knob in a place called Villa Marine. It was a tremendous place, I could have stayed forever. This gateway into the rainforest was just outside my suite.

Spotted near Andi's barn the other day ... another situation where having the camera handy all the time paid off!

Fenceposts are a wonderful thing out on the plains in eastern Colorado. All types of birds use them as perches by the side of the road where you can get a clear view of them.

These actually aren't reflectors. They're a new addition to WVWC's state-of-the-art security system. They shoot lasers. Indiscrimenately. And apparently, randomly.

Keeps you on your toes.
