Since the sunset was a bust, I just went for a long exposure.

Waves caught breaking simultaneous off a cliff wall.
As a surf photographer I look for patterns in the ocean. Here I was waiting for a swell that supposed to arrive before dark, but started to fill in after the sun set. No worries because this motion blur worked out perfect! Hiking for a good hour to find a spot high up a hill to find the view I wanted. Happy with the result.

Long exposure, SOOC
I feel this is a bit overexposed, but, I really wanted to capture the stars. They were beautiful this night... I miss summer nights.
One more SOOC in comments. Of just the stars.
Vancouver - Long Exposure
Vancouver from Stanley Park, near the 9PM gun (which I managed to capture in the middle of firing!)
Playing with the camera at night and taking a manual, long exposure picture while a tram passes through the shot

Geen mooie zonsopkomst vanmorgen!!
Dus dacht ik ga maar een LE fotograferen, maar met -3ºC viel dat niet mee :-)
No sunrise this morning!
So I thought I'm just make an LE photo, but with -3ºC it was not easy :-)
Used a tripod, B+W ND110 filter and remote control for this photo.
Thanks for your visit and comments, I appreciate that very much!

Since it was getting fairly dark with lots of wave action I decided to at least have some fun with long exposures, 10 seconds on this one at f22 for you camera geeks!
A long exposure of Avalon Pier on the North Carolina Outer Banks, taken on a very blustery fall day.

A long exposure shot taken last night at Hamnøy in the Lofoten Islands. The peak across the fjord is Olstind, and looks very pointy from this angle!
Canon AE-1 is not the perfect camera to try double exposures because you have to do the trick with rewinding... but it's fun to give it a try on the last or first frames of the film.

double exposures were taken over about a month time period. I ran the roll through my camera twice, over all, they were taken in Seattle, Gerogia, Florida, Portland OR and Las Vegas. Taken with a manual Minolta x570, with fuji velvia slide film, expired in 2000, and cross processed.

I've not done a lot of long exposure over the years. Much as I enjoy the images I get a bit bored standing around taking the shots, and I tend to find that a lot of the places you'd set up to take them tend to have been used as a toilet over night!
…looks like these old war time Norfolk fence relics regularly get buried & exposed judging by the length of the posts here & the encrusted pebbles on them. This exposure was with the Fuji XE1 which I thought did a good job as did Silver Efex Pro2 in eking out the detail.

Inspirated by the work of Joel Tjintjelaar and many others who pictured this great bridge, I took a guess and went to Sealand. Not the best weather for taking a long exposure shot because there where no clouds. I'm pretty happy with the result. A sort of minimalistic way of a long exposure shot bringing the shape of this bridge to the essence..

Probably you shall not believe it, but the colors were really there, probably the different purples appear with the different times exposure.
Happy Easter!!!
