In camera double exposure. Any blown highlights effectively become an image mask.

Placed on a moving bridge over a canal. Every time a boat passed the bridge it moved aside, together with the camera.

Have not shot light trails since in Madrid last November:

It's true that light pollution is so severe, but how could photographers resist, especially when lights mean so much?
double exposures were taken over about a month time period. I ran the roll through my camera twice, over all, they were taken in Seattle, Gerogia, Florida, Portland OR and Las Vegas. Taken with a manual Minolta x570, with fuji velvia slide film, expired in 2000, and cross processed.
Playing around with the double exposure mode on the Canon 6D. Can do some interesting things. Combined two shots for the silhouetted face then put it on the Milky Way background.

"The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open. Do it. Throw yourself." - C. Joybell

I hope you enjoy this photo!
Comments and feedback are always appreciated!
Thank you.

Love time exposures on a traffic intersection. Use a small ISO and aperture (bigger number) to get the longest exposure possible.

Easter Lily exposed!
again taken with my trusty (quickly becoming) 55X250mm on macro setting from 4 feet away.
167 second exposure. My hope was to get some practice shooting long exposures on an overcast morning with low contrast light. It cleared up into a solid blue sunny sky about 10 minutes after I arrived.
pinhole impressionism (double exposure)
each day i drove past and admired a magnificent tree, bare-branched, all its blooms scattered around like fallen jewels
a beautiful sight, worthy of any naturalistic, high-resolution study
instead, pinhole - 5 seconds at the reaching branches, 5 at the coloured carpet
the result (no photo manipulation) bears little resemblance to the scene, but it is far closer to the feeling of standing before it

Inspirated by the work of Joel Tjintjelaar and many others who pictured this great bridge, I took a guess and went to Sealand. Not the best weather for taking a long exposure shot because there where no clouds. I'm pretty happy with the result. A sort of minimalistic way of a long exposure shot bringing the shape of this bridge to the essence..

Just thought I would see what everybody thinks of such a long exposure. It was taken just after most of the sunset was done.

I recently added the B&W ND110 to my filter collection and whilst I haven't dabbled in any daytime long exposure, I finally got a chance to "road test" it today.
It's always pretty tricky finding a good subject for long exposure that hasn't already been done, especially during the day and whilst this can be considered an experimental test of sorts, it turned out ok for a first stab.
I set the camera on the tripod, manually focused the area to include the shadow cast from the groin at the center of the picture. I experimented with a few different aperture values and eventually settled on f22, although I prefered f16 initially. I then worked through various different exposure times and found a nice balance at 30 seconds.
Once I had my shot, I took 3 different shots using various white balance levels (to help bring out the blue in the sky and the sea) and then merged the three shots, toned down the bright yellows and magentas of the pebbles and finally cropped the photograph a little so it was perfectly level.
I don't feel like I got the best out of the filter on this occasion, but it was a good session of exploration through trial and error to see what I could create and with a far more interesting subject I now feel mildly confident of producing something far better.
