Many many thanks to the GRA for allowing the shoot today. The greyhounds were wonderful, the staff brilliant, and the tea superbly supplied. It's harder than it looks to get a good shot !

Ich bin mir nicht sicher, denke aber, dass dies eines der ersten Ausgeflogenen ist. Die Amseln haben am gestrigen Abend gut 15 Minuten aufgeregt gerufen. Willkommen in der Welt :)

The pilot, Jim McTaggart, was educated in Glasgow. he learned to fly at the Glasgow Flying Club in the early '70s while persuing a career in civil engineering. To finance his professional licence, he spent two years building air strips.

This young Grey Seal pup is transitioning day-by-day as it sheds it's white coat for a waterproof pelt. Only about 1/2 dozen are left in the area now from the 15-20 that were in the area a couple of weeks ago. Photographed near Cheticamp Harbor, Cheticamp, Nova Scotia, Canada. Many of these are available as prints and greeting cards at

About blackbird-sized and striking black-and-white. It has a very distinctive bouncing flight and spends most of its time clinging to tree trunks and branches, often trying to hide on the side away from the observer. Its presence is often announced by its loud call or by its distinctive spring 'drumming' display. The male has a distinctive red patch on the back of the head and young birds have a red crown.

Captured at the Cleveland MetroParks Zoo.

Yes another colour image, you'll start talking about me behind my back soon.

Taken yesterday out at Chew Valley lake (yes Adrian I paid a visit to one of your favourite parts of it).

Some of the highlights on the ice were blown out due to the light reflecting off it so I thought I'd join the fashionable side of photography and chuck a texture (Courtesy of my carpet) over it to bring in some needed detail into those areas.

Not sure if it works well though and I may come back to this edit and try it differently at a later date

Maroon Bells - Snowmass Wilderness: Day 3 - Buckskin Pass and Willow Lake Pass

Some of it is small, some is big.

Some is permanent, some of it is temporary.

Some of it is informal, some formal.

Sometimes manmade, sometimes natural.

There is art all around our city if you look.

Many times in unexpected places,

it just means looking for it.

Es war faszinierend der einbeinigen Möwe zuzusehen. Erst dachte ich sie hätte das Bein eingezogen. Beim Start wurde jedoch klar dass sie nur eines hatte. Die beiden waren immer beisammen.
