Jackdaws look slightly malevolent at the best of times. But this character was definitely putting the evil eye on one of his foe.

Hi everybody. My name is Sheera. I don't like to play with anybody and I hate to cuddle.
I'm gonna give you the look
That opens up the skies
I've got evil eyes

Another one from my hike around Gowbarrow Fell last Saturday up in the Lake District. This little fellow decided to do a little staring competition with me trying to stop me from passing. He is actually standing on the path blocking it making it impossible to pass without taking him on.. Got my camera out, taking my time with settings and he just stood there patiently waiting for my next move... In the end I think his mum got more nervous about our competition and called him over. He VERY reluctantly moved aside letting me pass... Funny creatures!!

Colourful Maltese luzzu's or fishing boats. These fishing vessels are usually painted in gaudy colours and they are a feast of colour worth watching. The luzzu is the main fishing vessel of the Maltese Islands and its shape and decoration goes back hundreds of years. Its structure has remained unchanged and the eye of Horus clearly seen in this photograph is a sure sign that the luzzu and the whole Maltese fishing tradition dates back to the time of the Phoenicians who must have brought over the Egyptian belief that the Eye Of Horus protects its wearers or users from the evil eye.
DAY 50!!!
YAY!
Can you believe that I actually made it to day 50 without missing a day?!? I know I don't.
I really don't like the picture though, but I'm busy now.
I had a dream last night that if two colorblind people had a baby it would turn out green.
It kinda makes sense, mathematically, since two minuses make a plus.
Oh, and if you haven't seen it already, go watch Running With Scissors. It's brilliant.
Day 50 of 366!!!

While I was at Goreme Valley, Cappadocia, I came across this tree decked with these evil-eye ornaments. They are supposed to ward-off evil.
Grand Bazaar in Istanbul is one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world. This photo show a shop selling Charms used to ward off the evil eye and thus it called Evil Eye "ayn al-hasud" in arabic
Apparently these blue eyes are suppose to bring one good luck or at least ward off evil (as I understood it.)
The (evil eye) Nazar Boncuğu provides peace of mind and is the most popular souvenir sold in Turkey. From small key rings to necklaces to large ceramic eyes to hang up in the home, they are all sold wherever tourism exists. :-)
The all seeing pinwheel...lol Also doubles as protection from the Evil Eye.

One of two almost identical juvenile Swainson's Hawks. I finally found them together yesterday and may post a picture soon.
All evil is potential vitality in need of transformation.
Even evil is to be accepted because evil is potential vitality in need of transformation. Anger is potential vitality -- accept it. I am not saying that you should remain angry; it is through acceptance that you can transform anger into compassion. It is the same energy that becomes compassion. I am not saying remain sexual for your whole life, but it is the energy of sex that becomes love and it is the energy of love that becomes prayer. Go on transforming it. But if you reject it from the very beginning, how are you going to transform it? If you condemn it you create a barrier between yourself and your own energy; now no transformation is possible. You become antagonistic, you become split.

I'm not sure if it's got flash-induced red-eye or if that's its natural colour emphasised by the flash. Whatever, it's just about the only thing that's sharp...the squirrel was wriggling around too much and there's a lot of motion blur.
It also seems to be rather fat - could it be a pregnant female?
This Hawk, eating a piece of meat, looks very protective. He was giving me the evil eye stare.

I seem to have a wicked case of the dry eye...lol I'm off to bed to relieve my eyes for a few hours. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday and if you live anywhere near me don't forget to set your clocks forward an hour for daylight savings :)
Em breve posto uma imagem melhor, terminamos a noite pra variar, mais a fotografia ja da uma noção do ambiente. Better photo coming soon.
Last minute decision against the W.E. Hill & Sons varnish cleaner bottle, and for the dishwasher tab. Did some last adjustments for it in LR today, and just for fun added a vignette - and the Evil Eye appeared.
Thank you for your kind comments, I appreciate every single one, and your faves!
A Happy Macro Monday, Everyone!
