Always stays the same, nothing ever changes,

English summer rain seems to last for ages.

Always stays the same, nothing ever changes,

I'm in the basement, you're in the sky,

I'm in the basement baby, drop on by.

I'm in the basement, you're in the sky,

I'm in the basement baby, drop on by.

Hold your breath and count to ten,

And fall apart and start again,

Hold your breath and count to ten,

Start again, start again...

Hold your breath and count your step,

And fall apart and start again.

Start again...

And start again, and start again,

Start again...

So many designers have been generous in giving such lovely group gifts lately....Hisa has done just that as well with a beautiful new English Garden Shed...equipped with roses and bushes so you can pretty much set it down and be done! Be sure to wear your group tag to grab the gift..I've paired it with La maisonette D'Aurora by Hisa as well so you can see how perfectly they fit together...Pictured:

If I should die, think only this of me:

That there’s some corner of a foreign field

That is for ever England. There shall be

In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;

A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,

Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam;

A body of England’s, breathing English air,

Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.

And think, this heart, all evil shed away,

A pulse in the eternal mind, no less

Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;

Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;

And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,

In hearts at peace, under an English heaven.

A westbound Canadian National intermodal train curves through English, Alberta, on a sunny August 5, 2016. Leading the train is lone GE ET44AC No. 3045, which will soon be in Jasper Yard for a quick crew change. When they are new and clean(ish), CN’s scheme is pretty arresting.

I took this picture in the Volksgarten in Vienna yesterday. It's a by-product of my participation in the all-day demonstration against the turquoise-blue government coalition near the Chancellery. The Ballhausplatz in front of it was much too small for some 10,000 demonstrators, so lots of them populated part of the nearby Volksgarten.

Had the pleasure of visiting The O'Connor House English Tea Room in Deseranto, Ontario and this beautiful scene was on our table. Such a lovely way to spend a few hours on a weekend afternoon.

Wrens are stocky, restless birds that are easily recognised by their rich brown plumage and short cocked tail which they flick repeatedly. The upperparts and flanks have dark barring and the pale eyebrow (supercilium) is prominent. The underparts are paler with grey barring. The bill is brownish and the legs are flesh-brown Both sexes: Chestnut brown upperparts, and pale below.

Sedum anglicum or English stonecrop now grows where the Bryn Eglwys Quarry used to be.

There is a small spot in the woodland area of the park full of nature if you wait robins, nuthatches blue tits and even wrens and blackcaps a wonderful oasis of nature..

AKA Grey Partridge.... For me they'll always be an English Partridge....Sadly I don't see them as often as I used to... A beautiful shy bird ready to explode into rapid flight and as a covey to burst into every direction possible so as to confuse a predator....

A hardy bird...and seen on so many continents... Here a beautiful male creeping amongst the stubble, no doubt with some hens somewhere in attendance....who would be flattened into the ground ready for the command to burst into flight...!

And what a beautifully marked bird too.....

"I honor English majors. It's a dumb thing to major in. It leads nowhere.

It's good to be dumb - it allows us to love something for no reason.

That's the best kind of love."
