B&W Engagement sesssion

Me and Teresa having a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant and putting on our rings..

Love you so much Teresa

Well here's a peek at my second engagement shoot.. ever.

That's 3 photo shoots of people in all :P + 1 doggy, other than my own pets.

So far I am so pleased at how they are turning out.

An old friend asked me to shoot her engagement and wedding photos. I was so honoured that she thought to ask me even though I have no experience with a wedding and only 1 other engagement shoot under my belt. Makes me feel pretty confident!

I'm very excited to see where I will be with my photography in a few years from now. I'm learning as I go and experimenting/trial and error is my way of learning best.

2014 is going to be an exciting year for me, I can already tell!

For our engagement, I set the camera up on a tripod and used the timer settings to take some candid engagement shots of us. We did one summer and one winter session.

Sculpture at Sunset Beach in Vancouver's West End. The artist Dennis Oppenheim's two engagment rings symbolize the balance required between two people with different backgrounds and interests.

Did this engagement photo for my coworker and her husband last year.

Order was for 3 doz cupcakes to celebrate an engagement. Red velvet with vanilla buttercream, chocolate with vanilla and chocolate buttercream and vanilla with chocolate and vanilla buttercream. Personalized with LOVE, a heart with the bride and groom-to-be's initials and flowers. Colors are black, white and pink.

Nathan and I had our engagement pictures taken on Thursday. Here are just a few of the ones she took. She is not a professional but she did a wonderful job. She said it was her gift to us. I dogsit their dog Rags (which I am doing again this week) and the cat Spot.

My friend got engaged and asked me to take a few pictures for announcements. This was one that came out pretty well.

I have SO much to do and SO little time. So of course, instead of doing my homework or studying for my interview, I am posting an engagement photo that I took this past weekend.

The place where they got engaged, the Krannert steps is located in the background.

I was looking through some of Phil and Sara's engagement photos and re-processing two of my favorite photos. This couple is absolutely one of the most fun to shoot.

It's been 2 years since I propsed to Melissa. That makes 7 years together, 18 months of engagement , 4 months of marraige. And ya know what the best part is? She still loves me, even if I post a pic like this. This was shot the morning after I propesed. -shot by Melissa

Friends getting engaged in a park amidst candles! :)

Lindsay and Ryan were SUCH a pleasure to work with on their engagement shoot!! Such a fun and beautiful couple. I can't wait for their wedding in January!! :)

I just lightened the image with Kubota's "Lighten" action and pumped up the color with TRA's "Oh,Snap". I also used Parker Pfister's "Tilt Shift #2" to blur out a bit of the forground and the buildings in the back.

For all of my images I use the 50mm 1.2 .

Taken for our friends a week before their marriage. Location: Mariveles Bataan, Philippines

Abby and I had such an awesome time at this engagement shoot. Glen and Susan were the coolest people to be around and were so easy to work with. Susan added me as a contact through flickr over a year ago so it was nice to finally meet her in person. We met up at the Deerfield Beach Pier just in time for the sunrise. It was a last minute decision to meet up that early but it was well worth it. I was so worried about this photoshoot because it had been raining on and off the entire week. We got lucky and the clouds cleared up as the sun started to peak out over the horizon.

We didn’t know that they were Filipino until the day of the shoot. Once we found that out, we started talking about all sorts of Filipino foods, traditions, etc. It was a fun time and I can’t wait for their wedding.

I decided to play with a little bit of texture in this one.

Gotta do the shoes...

I did an engagement session today for my friends Christina and Alex. We had such a fantastic time, and they were both such good sports. I always tend to think people will get really tired, especially guys, but they both wanted to keep going, and were also both very participative, coming up with lots of ideas and doing things without my prompting. We did a tonnnn (seriously, I did a double take when I was uploading photos--had no idea so many), so we did a bunch of different vignettes and outfits, including a bunch of traditional, but I of course love some of these alternative shots. So much fun. I have a new blog and wedding site coming within the next couple days, where i'll post more of these larger, but I couldn't resist uploading a few. I know Christina was ancy to see them asap. :)
