The recent Blood Moon eclipse over the Carquinez Bridge...

Sorry for my recent lack of activitiy on Flickr. Have been holding back on editing waiting for a LR update and my computer logic board recently failed. The two together = big backlock on workflow but hey, it's all just water under the bridge. :-)

BTW: If anyone is interested in a brand new never used Nikon D610, please contact me....

Eclipse December 21st 2010 I Use for this photos my sigma 50mm-500mm

August 11, 1999. Zenit TTL + MTO 11 CA 1000mm, Konica VX 200.

One of my first photos ever I considered good enough to show off.

Since the recent eclipse looked like fun, I've decided to revisit the last one I have witnessed to date

(I couldn't see any of those that followed because of the weather).

I've had many adventures with this borrowed monster Soviet lens -- for example I saw 30 or more white-tailed eagles circling in the air together just for fun, right above me, a one in a lifetime thing -- but I had ran out of film. At least I could watch them and count them through a 1000 mm telescope.

Parte do primeiro Eclipse Solar de 2017.

Solar (partial) eclipse this morning.

I wanted to use my sunglasses and the car tint but it was too bright. Good thing I was able to get hold of two dark used films in the store where I went.

As soon as i got home I uploaded it and was putting my watermark. Accidentally I clicked the action I used for watermark on the sun. It turned out well.

The sky cleared in NE Oklahoma long enough for a few shots.

Lunar Eclipse tonight, with guest appearances by Saturn (blue top right) and Regulus, (bright star on left). It was gorgeous to see, and my pix don't do it justice. But, I just popped this off in the backyard to record the event for myself, and I'm sure folks with telescopes or longer lenses got a nicer shot...can't wait to see some. How beautiful our lovely moon is.

I took this in my back garden while I was supposed to be gardening....

Eclipse da Lua em 15.04.2014. Foto tirada às 06:00hs, da janela do quarto de minha filha, quando nos preparávamos para levá-la ao colégio.

Another sequence of the lunar eclipse this week. Nikon 400mm lens and 1.7 teleconverter.

Unfortunately, last night’s eclipse was itself eclipsed by heavy cloud cover. The moon would peek out for a few seconds every now and then but not long enough for me to get a good shot. Since I was feeling left out, I decided to revisit this series I made the last time I was able to witness the whole event. Those familiar with this image might have noticed the fancy new rounded corners that I added using Picnik (thanks Angie).

Eclipse February 2008... or did that missile miss shooting down that spy satellite!

God made two great lights--the greater to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night."... And God said "Mmmmm, that was good."

More on

This lunar eclipse shot was taken from my backyard back on a clear winter night of the winter solstice December 2010. The last lunar eclipse happening on a winter solstice was 372 years prior.

Had to shoot at ISO 1600 as it was total darkness outside. The moon is not perfect, but I am so glad that the stars were also captured in the dark night sky.

Shot as is with just some sharpness and white balance adjustments.

Lunar Eclipse April 15 2014 - Mitchell, SD

I finally managed some time to get through all of the images I took of the total lunar eclipse and put them together. Here it is, from near Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, from start to finish.

Vatican City (March, 2008)

This photo sequence was taken on the day of the Solar Eclipse at the shore of Greenland Sea near Longyearbyen Airport in Spitsbergen, Norway. I took the solar disk photos in every 15 minutes from sunrise to sunset with the help of a Baader AstroSolar filter. The 360 degrees foreground was captured on the first minute of the totality. The final result was created by applying a Little Planet effect to the image.

Photo details:

2015.03.20. Longyearbyen, Svalbard, Norway

Canon EOS 5D Mark II + Samyang EF 8/3.5

En realidad se nota el cambio de luminosidad en el exposímetro de la cámara, visulamente muy poco.

Dos imágenes tomadas en el mismo momento, combinadas. La primera 1/2 seg - f6.3; la segunda: 1/200 seg - f10.

Distancia focal:840 mm
