We didn't have any ice in the refrigerator for my gin and coke this afternoon so I walked to this giant icicle against a drainpipe to get some...

Drops from a drain pipe!
Looking up a grey drainpipe against the white ridged wall of the Harbour Town shopping centre.
Taken with iPhone 4S.
While walking back from my photoshoot at Wollaton Hall, I noticed this drainpipe with these wonderfull yellow flowers sprouting all around it. It was one of those moments where I knew what the finished image would look like....and here it is.
I suppose my drain photography was in some sort of transition when I took this shot. Hence the lack of red head torch, partial front lighting (and general imbalance), slightly blurred figure and asymmetrical composition.
Hello;-) For me it feels somehow NewYorkish ... but it is Kiev. I am back and the power is so far availble. Wish you good one and will be with you shorty.
PS
i've been to Bruges - wonderful place!
Saved from death by our Yorkie Amber.
While in the garden this morning Amber our Yorkie suddenly began pawing the drainpipe
and looking as us as if to say, "Theres something alive in there get them out."
Sue quickly removed the pipe and three baby sparrows fell out!!!
She carefully replace them in the nest hoping dad and mum would accept them back.
Twenty minutes later Sue checked the nest and the good news is that the parents are feeding them!!
Well done Amber
PIXNOTE:
While I was shooting wildflower pictures, I noticed that dozens of small (about 3cm/ 1") frogs were all escaping in the same abandoned drainpipe (see red arrow in the comment picture).....Just for fun I tried to take a picture by introducing the camera lens in the pipe....I was amazed by what I saw!!!!!!...What was funny was that the Sentinel Frog stood at the entrance of the pipe looking at the camera while all the others were looking the other way!!!!!
n. * Sentinel

A beautiful upright bass at the Montreal Jazz Fest, rendered quite differently in infrared. Taken during a jazz performance at an outdoor stage (the bassist had paused playing while the drummer soloed).
There's a drainpipe I've had my eye on for a while... It's to be found (two of them actually) just outside Westminster tube station and is usually hidden by flocks of tourists whose backs are turned to it as they struggler amongst themselves to get a shot of Big Ben.
+ A window on... axinha + - PLEASE take a look at this new gallery of axinha's great work.
