The hour was getting late, and a slight breeze starting kicking up, so to keep the exposure from being too long, I increased the ISO here to 800 so the exposure could be limited to 30 seconds. This was at the limit where movement in the docked boats was just starting.
The Bar Harbor town lights shining out on the pier and boats was pretty cool against the blue hour sky.

The Margaret Todd docked in Bar Harbor after sunset on a cloudy evening. Some showers rolled through, leading to a slightly breezy late evening on the water. Increased the ISO here to keep the shutter speed down around 2 seconds as the breeze was moving the docked ship a little. I did this knowing that I was zooming in to 40mm with the lens, and wanted any movement there kept to a minimum.

Before leaving out on the lake last weekend, we spent the first night docked. Most people arrived late, and taking off into the darkness in a lake that's at a very low level isn't advised. Still, being at the lake is better than being at home...
It figures, it was also the night with the best sunset...There wasn't really ANYWHERE to shoot....the docks for the most part were too short to be interesting. The houseboats were in my opinion not worth taking pictures of. The only interesting dock area was about a 50 yard swim out in the lake....something I briefly considered.
I found some canoes that would be good subject matter...but they were in the one spot of the area where the sunset wasn't visible. The worker-guy also wasn't too keen on my moving one for my shot.
This is what I found. A semi-interesting dock, with no boats. I almost didn't even get to shoot here. As I was setting up a heard of little kids decided it would be fun to do calisthenics where I was at.
They shook the entire dock.
I only had to drown one of them before they got the hint...
St Katharine Docks, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, were one of the commercial docks serving London, on the north side of the river Thames just east (downstream) of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. They were part of the Port of London, in the area now known as the Docklands.

The schooner Margaret Todd docked in the blue hour at Bar Harbor, Maine on a cloudy moody evening.

The 'Old Docks' (Ghent- Belgium) will become the 'New Docks'
The old docks area is getting a new destination with a residentail area, a school, a sports place, etc Building works are in progress. The old concrete plant will be renovated, will get a new destination and will be integrated into the new district. Currently it is still a fantastic place for graffiti sprayers (not legal but the police is not really acting), which makes it a very colorful place.
It was a beautiful evening in Seward, Alaska when I take this photo next to the dock of the port. The mountains , the clouds, calm water and a breathtaking view. All the things that you need to finish the day.

Meanwhile, moist saline winds continue their corrosive and destructive action on the great iron and concrete structure.
