Just a capture from a dimly lit restaurant diner where the colours and warm wood, light and reflections caught my eye. One of my coursework exam submissions.

A once great little local diner.

Around Ealing with a camera....

One of a few remaining classic 60's diners in LA

After enduring a 36-hour snow storm on the second day of spring, we get dug out and head off to our local diner. The sky was so gorgeous, so blue, eight inches of snow disappearing before our eyes. It was as if Mother Nature was saying "I was only kidding"....

This is the fifth of eight in our diner adventures for this year, and it is all decked out like a proper 50's eatery. Lots of color and shine, it could have been from Happy Days. It was my first time here, tho my son goes on a regular basis, and we vote yea......

Originally operated as a diner in Torrington, Wyoming, the actual "Valentine" diner, which was just to the left of and connected to this building, was moved here to Mullen, Nebraska, where it was known as the Jewel Diner for 23 years, beginning in 1949, and later Big Red's Bar and Grill. The diner building was purchased in 1997 and restored on private property. The National Motor Club, represented by the sticker on the door, is apparently still a thing. UK Journal Day 37 (Travel Diary Day 75)

(Travel blog - strange-lands.com/daily/2012/09/27/road-side-diner/)

We’ll be having our UK wedding tomorrow. Although I’ll still be able to schedule a photo on the blog, I won’t have the time to post on facebook and flickr, and Rachel would chop my head off if I spent any time on the net on our wedding day.

I finally found some shoes. My brother came to the rescue.

I don’t own any because I made a symbolic gesture of throwing them out, along with shirts and ties, when we quit our jobs in Korea. That was my way of saying I would no longer be an employee. I wanted to be my own boss. Watch this space to see how things pan out.

Finally, I got my hair trimmed today. The barber was telling a story to the only other customer in the shop. He finished as I sat down. I jumped into the barber’s chair and rather confusingly the barber started the story where he’d left off with the previous customer. I had no idea what was going on.

Someone called Bob had 49 guns because he was an olympian but now he’s dead, and he was also a Mason. RIP Bob, whoever you are.

Today’s Photo – a road side diner

Yesterday’s photo was extremely sensible. And since I’ve been quite meditative today, preparing myself for the wedding, I channeled my moment of ‘mentalness’ in this photo. It’s an American style diner James Pawlowski and I stopped at on our way back from the London photowalk.

I've been away for awhile looking for work on the east coast. I'm in the process of moving but I will post as much as I can and comment to the best of my ability until everything gets settled.

Here is the inside of the diner I posted the other day.

The Queen Victoria Building (or QVB), is a late 19th century building designed by the architect George McRae.

Love this beautiful grand Victorian shopping centre!

Flo's is an abandoned diner near Lafayette, Indiana.

Most of the viewpoints in Sedona were graced with phone lines and homes; or they were just not optimal. Here I pulled into an abandoned diner and had much better sight. You really have to find your own way

"Diner" is the landmark 1982 movie that launched numerous careers (including those of Kevin Bacon, Mickey Rourke, and Ellen Barkin). Seen in 114 pictures in 2014 #83 - TV Show or Movie Title

Sadly this iconic roadside diner in Newport News Virginia has been closed for about a year. The image below, as seen through the window shows the interior as though time has stood still....

Thanks to my good friend Scott (Saintbridge) we were able to once again hook up and tour some of eastern Virginia.

Sadly, no longer a diner..but apparently soon to be a community info/arts space.

Just passing by but could not resist the play of light and shadow ....so had to stop...

Enjoy your weekend and thank you for the visits! Be well!
