Everyone was enjoying holi at Shakharibazar , Dhaka. Suddenly I noticed a gentleman standing at a few distance . I got closer to him and found smiling when the kids were throwing colors to him , his soul was dancing with the music beats , he was completely mixed with the festival . Definitely , he was enjoying the environment..he was enjoying the festival..his soul was feeling the color inspite of having no eyes....

Ahsan Monjil was the official residential palace and seat of the Nawab of Dhaka.[1] The building is situated at Kumartoli along the banks of the Buriganga River in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Construction was started in 1859 and was completed in 1872.[1] It was constructed in the Indo-Saracenic Revival architecture. It has been designated as a national museum

Dhaka Sadarghat, also called Sadarghat Port, the Dhaka City River Front, located in the southern part of Dhaka, on the river Buriganga,[1] is one of the most dynamic places in Dhaka. Here, the Sadarghat River Boat Terminal is one of the largest river ports in the world. About 300 large and small passenger river boats (motorized) depart and arrive with an average of 500 passengers every hour at the terminal every day. According to the officials at the terminal, 1,50,000 people, in average, use the terminal for departure and arrival every day. At this place hundreds of country boats laden with passengers and merchandise cross the river.

Dhaka was founded during the 10th century. It served as the Mogul capital of Bengal from 1608 to 1704 and was a trading center for British, French, and Dutch interests before coming under British rule in 1765. In 1905 it was again named the capital of Bengal, and in 1956 it became the capital of East Pakistan. The city suffered heavy damage during the Bangladesh war of independence (1971). The romanized spelling of the Bengali name was changed from Dacca to Dhaka in 1982.
Located on the banks of the Buriganga River, along with its metropolitan area, had a population of over 16 million in 2011, making it the largest city in Bangladesh. It is the 9th largest city in the world and also 28th among the most densely populated cities in the world. Dhaka is known as the City of Mosques, the Muslim influence is reflected in the more than 700 mosques and historic buildings found throughout the city and with 400,000 cycle rickshaws running on its streets every day and it was a provincial capital and a centre of the worldwide muslin trade.
