I know there is nothing special about this photo, when it comes to technique or composition or so... but it makes me feel good anyway :) Peaceful.
Came across this display while driving through the Central Ontario countryside in search of the elusive owls. See one in there? No? Me neither...Still keep looking.
Went out for dinner in Frankfurt and have to walk back to our hotel at the countryside of Frankfurt...

Idylle – Balsam für die Seele
Ich mache derzeit eine Serie, die ich „In Harmonie mit der Natur“ nenne. Sie ist der Ausdruck der Sehnsucht nach Ganzheit mit sich selbst. Ausdruck des Umstandes, dass Frieden und eine idyllische Zeitphase herrscht.
Für mich ist diese Sehnsucht Wirklichkeit geworden, denn ich lebe auf einem Bauernhof ganz konkret in dieser Idylle. Die Stürme des Lebens haben sich gelegt und mein Blick hinaus auf die mich umgebende Welt, auf grüne Felder, auf Wald, Wiesen mit Pferden und Kühen spiegelt mein inneres Glück, das auf nichts mehr beruht als auf dem Dasein im Hier und Jetzt. Ich fühle mich angekommen. Bei mir. Ich fühle mich an meinen Wurzeln. Auf dem Bauernhof. Mit den Tieren. Ich spiele mit den Tauben und kämpfe mit dem Hahn, wenn er partout nicht zurück in den Stall will. Ich mähe den Rasen und grabe den Garten für das Gemüse im Frühjahr um. Die Jahreszeiten sind faszinierend und intensiv. Das Goldgelb des Sonnenaufganges kann ich von meinem Fenster aus beobachten. Meine schönsten Bilderhimmel habe ich hier fotografiert. Und auf der anderen Seite des Hauses sehe ich den Sonnenuntergang. Hinter dem Haus liegt ein Teich mit Fischen und Enten und an der angrenzenden Wiese fließt ein Bach entlang aus dem der Teich mit frischem Wasser gespeist wird.
Meine gekauften Zierenten hat allerdings der Fuchs geholt. Keine Idylle kommt ohne einen Dieb aus, der die Harmlosigkeit dieser paradiesisch erscheinenden Welt in Frage stellt. Stets hat alles seinen Kontrapunkt, denn Yin kommt nicht ohne Yang. Auch hier, in meinem kleinen Paradies muss ich nach wie vor „Holzhacken und Wasserholen.“
Doch das Heizen mit Holz bereitet mir Freude und die Bewegung, die es mir verschafft ist perfekter Ausgleich zu meiner Tätigkeit am Computer.
Auf meinem Weg zum nächsten Supermarkt komme ich an Wegen und Straßen vorbei, und wenn ich früh genug losfahre, kann ich den Sonnenaufgang fotografieren und Bilder einfangen wie das obige.
Natürlich ist das Bild editiert und ich habe die Idylle bewusst idealisiert. Die meisten meiner Bilder sind mit digitaler Bildbearbeitung entstanden und daher Kreationen. Die Wirklichkeit sieht selten so aus, doch mittlerweile kann ich sie so sehen. Ich freue mich über ein schönes Motiv und sehe dann die Ziege, wie sie auf die Bäuerin wartet und fühle mich versetzt in meine Kindheit.
Ich spiele am Computer mit Bildern und Farben und sehe die Landschaft noch einmal neu. Der Baum hat es mir angetan. Seine Majestät und gleichzeitige Grazie. Welch ein Vergnügen, ihn und seine Umgebung ins rechte Licht rücken zu können.
Auf diese Weise nehme ich immer deutlicher wahr, wie schön meine Umgebung hier im Lipperland ist: Idylle. Balsam für die Seele.

i've always loved this great weathered barn. drove past it a gazillion times but it always had an rv parked in front of it so i was never able to shoot it. lucky day.

I long for the countryside. That's where I get my calm and tranquillity - from being able to come and find a spot of green.

Over the weekend Pittsburgh has got lot of snow. I was waiting to grab this opportunity to get some winterscape shots. Me and My photographer friend Aaron decided to do some hiking and followed by some wild drive towards countryside. Aaron is a wonderful photographer and his works are really outstanding. You can see his flickr page . After some good lunch, Aaron and I drove to some countryside. The roads were not good, but Aaron's Audi was awesome. When we were passing through the countryside we saw this place and decided to stop the car in the middle of teh road. Took our camera out and started taking some photos. OMG the cold was unbearable.
