Post-script -- I find it amazing that I can sit in the relative isolation of the cottage, 'away from it all' and take a picture with my Blackberry and upload it to flickr.com.
As a hot summer day in Ontario fades away into sunset on Boshkung lake. We sit reflecting on the fun we had and look forward to tomorrow!
Probably should have moved those deck chairs out of the way for a more esthetically pleasing shot - but I had just woken up and was too lazy to go down the the dock......so this is the shot as I saw it this morning - as is. :)
I have not been up north to cottage country aka Muskoka in over 10 yrs. I can't believe it has been that long. The weather was spectacular, the sun was shining, the waters sparkled like diamonds...it truly was a wonderful day trip up there. I know there will be a few more trips there this summer as my daughter begins work at Deerhurst Inn. So stay tuned for future pics...
Hovering around the snowmobile bridge at McCrae Lake. Rare shot with no one around, usually a canoe or two getting in and out of the river.
The serenity is misleading, I was losing my mind with the bugs, waiting for a little night sky photography.
This was taken after some drunken skinny-dipping. Too priceless.

Just got back from a weekend visit to my friend Lynn's cottage ~ and was lucky enough to get close to one of these beautiful, elusive creatures to photograph it. What magnificent birds, and what a distinctive call ~ one of nature's most poignantly haunting sounds.
