Took advantage of one day off at my cottage to repaint the interior. Noticing the beautiful, warm sunset softly touched down on the lake horizon, there would be no reason to miss such a wintry wonder.

For sure it would be totally different scenery in the summer with the reflection on the calm water...

Cowboy Trail- Happy Day to You Flickr Friends

I lit up the foreground with a flashlight. The water is so clear that you can see rocks on the bottom.

On a basically windless day I was able to take this shot at my highest flight yet of 500m

Early morning at Otter Lake and all is quiet on the lake.

Created this on my iPhone.

The last seconds of the sunset, and the last few feet of reception for my phantom. Almost 2km out from where I am standing. I am actually in this image, dead center. Find me? I am a tiny browish speck to the left of the dock with the boat, on a gravel path, at the center of the image. Happy May 2-4 Canada.

As I was about to depart to capture the sunset at the nearby waterfall, right above my lake the light circle, referred to as the sundog around the sun which looked like the rainbow attracted me. It lasted for about 10 minutes and disappeared gradually from the horizon. A natural wonder, rarely seen in winter!

Here is a mushroom growing just inside the edge of the woods, near the shores of Hardy Lake. Taken with Pureshot on an iPhone 5s. Used shutter priority. Really helps get sharp images from your phone, getting around the not so fun Auto results you are often forced into with your phone camera.

my neighbour's yard at Plevna Ontario is adjacent to a body of water with a small set of rapids. steam was rising up off the water when I first woke up and so I grabbed my camera to head out and grab a shot. their four wheeler just seemed to add to the photograph somehow.

hark, now hear the sailors cry

smell the sea and feel the sky

let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic

and when that foghorn blows I will be coming

home

and when that foghorn blows I want to hear it

I don't have to fear it

and magnificently we will flow into the mystic...

can you hear the foghorn?

I've been sleeping through the pre- sunrises this summer and of course when the sun is up the fantastic colours have faded. This one makes up for all the missed ones.

A splash of colour is so welcome during early spring before the buds and leaves make their appearance. I was happy to see that these were the classic wooden Adirondack chairs and not the molded plastic ones.

I had thought to get up early one morning and drive the 15 minutes to Chandos Lake and hope for a sunrise. It just didn't happen for me, but on the last morning, I awoke at 5 o'clock and couldn't get back to sleep. Eventually, I decided to haul my pathetic self out of bed and do the drive.

This part of Ontario is dotted with lakes, but they are largely inaccessible to commoners such as I. However, there is a small public beach on Chandos, and I lucked out with a bit of a sunrise.

Oxford Dictionary defines ethics as:

“Moral principles that govern a person’s behavior or the conducting of an activity. Ethics are closely related to morals, and both...

From the same morning as yesterdays photo (see comments), these are the reasons for that photo shoot. They were okay, but I like the incidental discoveries, like yesterday, better. Life goes like that. Another Chandos Lake photo below.

Morning mist on Lake of Bays, Ontario, Canada. Canon EOS 5DII, Canon 17-40mm F4L.

Summer sunset from a rocky perch overlooking the Winnipeg River in northwestern Ontario, Canada. Knife painting on stretched canvas (11x14 in, sold).

You really had to be there. Lucky me.

Some interesting looking shooting stars captured this time. In the video they seem to come right after eachother, must be part of the same piece "spacerock". In the image they show as a perfect mirror of eachother, as if about to collide. Left the camera out for the entire evening, about 8pm till 6:30am. Had to remove the images that contained too much cloud. There hasn't been an entirely clear night here in quite a while!

at "the point" this weekend with our friends. mostly misserable weather, but saturday afternoon tried to get sunny. this was one of the only good shots i got of colours on the trees.

Just a simple picture of a Canadian loon pushing across the lake today. I thought it was particularity noteworthy because the trail was reflecting the light beautifully in the sun. Made a nice contrast shot.
