beautiful bedfordshire village,with a wonderful village green surrounded by these wonderful cottages.
This charming thatched cottage is located in the small village of East Garston on the Berkshire Downs. The nearby village of Lambourn is famous for training race horses which are exercised daily in the area.
The cottage itself is of timber framed construction with brick infill and dates from circa 16th century. It is a Grade II listed building which provides legal protection from any major alterations or changes.
I particularly liked the way the wooden beams have become weathered and twisted over the centuries adding great charm to the structure.
This lovely old cottage belongs to friends of mine and this is a photo I took there a few months ago.

One of the old cottages in Turville, complete with an old fashioned school signpost. The school in question is a long the lane to the left. Although it closed as the village school it is now a nursery.
The Cottage Palace is a splendid monument of Romanticism, situated in the eastern part of Alexandria Park, Peterhof, Russia. Built in the English Gothic style the palace fascinates with its architectural beauty and elegance.
i've been spending most of my weekends at the cottage this summer. remote with only boat access, no internet, and tons of relaxing and nature.
Cottage-2 of approximately 300 such gingerbread cottages situated on an old Methodist Campground in Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard. Today the Campground is a community of summer residents and a smaller number of year-round residents who value the intimacy created by the crowding of cottages on small tent lots. Many of the cottages have been owned by the same families for generations.
OLD COTTAGE LEYFIELD ROAD
Originaly built around 1650 It was recently restored and the section in the foreground added. Mrs Payne a former owner said the road used to be cinders and used to get flooded from a brook (Deys Brook) that ran under the road. So they raised the level of the road and she thinks thats why the cottage is lower than the road level
I love this old cottage, its set near the top of the hill (Harridge Pike), and I nosey at it everytime I walk past.

Another old house in the small skansen in Nadole :)
The Peasant and Fisherman’s Farmsteads in Nadole - the Museum is located on Lake Żarnowiec in Nadole, 20 km from Wejherowo. It was created in 1982 and constitutes a division of the Florian Ceynowa Puck Land Museum. The exposition includes a farmstead of a moderately wealthy peasant; the farmstead includes a cottage for an extended family, a barn and a byre. Also found in the Museum is a fisherman’s farmstead which contains a cottage and fishing nets. Also on display in the Museum are numerous associated object such as a bred oven, a cellar, a remise, an apiary, a rabbit warren, a pigeon-house, and a treadwheel.

Nadole – kaszubska wieś położona w województwie pomorskim, 20km. od Wejcherowa, nad zachodnim brzegiem Jeziora Żarnowieckiego.
Zagroda gburska i rybacka w Nadolu (oddział zamiejscowy Muzeum Ziemi Puckiej w Pucku, utworzony w 1982r.) obejmuje chałupę, oborę, stodołę, wozownię, piec chlebowy, studnie i kierat, a także królikarnię oraz warzywnik. Chata, w której koncentrowało się życie trzypokoleniowej rodziny, posadowiona jest w głębi podwórza, odgrodzona od części gospodarczej ogrodem kwiatowym. Cała zagroda pochodzi z XIX wieku, ze wsi Kartoszyno. W pobliżu brzegu jeziora zrekonstruowano też lokalne gospodarstwo o charakterze rybackim. W jego skład wchodzi ryglowy dom rybacki kryty trzciną, maglownia, wędzarnia oraz sieciarnia.

Paper.Sparrows - Long Sleeve Crinkle Dress
The hummingbird family that frequents our friend's cottage stopped by long enough for me to snap a few photos of them.
Having seen this cottage on Google images one day, I set about trying to find out where it was, and thanks to a very helpful Flickr member he was able to direct me to the location. Many thanks to him, I am very grateful!
Well, it had been way too long since I had been out and about with my camera, I had been waiting for the right kind of weather and today the forecast looked ideal! I wanted unsettled with lots of cloud and storm light, and as I was driving there I was getting more and more excited as it seemed perfect.
The cottage itself is adorable! very creepy indeed though and you can really let your imagination run wild there, which mine did, especially when I found an open door and couldn't resist a nosey inside it. The wind banging on the other door made my life flash before my eyes and I swear underneath all the hair dye my hair has gone completely white with fright!
(note to anyone wanting to shoot the cottage, it is only accessible over private land so you do need to get permission first)
