I went on a short walk in the castle garden close by to see if I could find any spring flowers to photograph. I could only find a couple of small snowdrops and a winter aconite so I bought a mini hydrangea in the store instead. Spring is late this year.

Update: Typical, just as I was starting to feel better, I got the worst cold I have had in years... =(

A butterfly found in South Texas. About 2 inches long. The inside was orange with a thin black lines, I didn't get a good look at the pattern.
Born in 1945, Jan Peng is one of the oldest elephants in Chiang Mais Elephant Nature Park. After a long and hard life of work and abuse she is enjoying a peaceful retirement in this sanctuary.
One of her former owners used a hook to control her, hence she has a hole in her ear - which her new mahout put a flower in.
