I GIVE YOU BEAUTY, EVERY DAY!

It has been an exceptional year for the Roses in my garden. We have been regaled!

So much beauty and joy for all the senses, well, Mmm, I did not eat them, although I know that rose petals can be candied, LOL

Have you ever caught a glimpse of those bicoloured roses that adorn the gardens with their brilliant contrasting hues? Well, those are the beautiful 'fire and ice' roses that set an awe with their spectacular combination of contrasting colours.

They are a perfect combination of the dark and the light, complete with a sparkling red interior and soothing white exterior.

Rose is the universal symbol of love, friendship, relationship and beyond.

When the rose possesses a dual colour combination like that of the Fire and Ice rose variety, the meaning intensifies. OULALA

This variety of rose belongs to the hybrid tea rose type.

Enjoy and make the BEST of every day! Thank you, M, (*_*)

Lisianthus are also known as Texas Bluebells, Prairie Gentian, or Lira de San Pedro.

One just opened, and a small bud, white and purple just on the lips.

Eustoma stems from the Greek words 'eu', which denotes something beautiful, and 'stoma', meaning mouth. Lisianthus on the other hand comes from the Greek words 'lysis', which translates as 'dissolution', and 'anthos', meaning flower.

Symbolising gratefulness and charisma, this beautiful long stemmed flower in cymes makes a perfect bouquet when wanting to show respect, love, acceptance, and acknowledgement.

Hope this makes you smile, have a good day and thank you for your visit, so very much appreciated, Magda, (*_*)

this one had a ’special’ inner light.

Don’t you just love Ranunculus, the multi-layered blooms opened beautifully, not always evident, the petals so paper-thin and their stems are often extremely delicate and do tend to just collapse before the bud can open into a gorgeous voluptuous bloom...

Each flower is unique, some are very close, but, just like people there are often small differences.

Also I have yet to encounter the “PERFECT’ flower, is there such a thing?

Gladiolus flowers bloom on a long spike that ranges from 2 to 4 feet tall.

These beauties open from the bottom and work their way upwards creating a long spire of blooms.

The grass-like foliage resembles the blade of a sword giving these flowers a reputation as sword flowers.

The blooms range in colour from bold orange and red to pastel blues, pinks and yellows, lilacs, whites and purple.

The gladiolus flower symbolises honour and remembrance, but it has other meanings too.

It can also symbolise the following:

•Strength of character

•Faithfulness, sincerity and integrity

•Infatuation

•Never giving up

Purple, specifically means: Charm, grace and mysteriousness.

Have a charmed day and thank you, M, (*_*)

A WEEK of LISIANTHUS... seven

There's an obvious reason why the name liasanthus, which is actually the old name, is much better known than the later name of Eustoma.

A lot of people do not feel that Eustoma sounds particularly pretty.

Yet it's a fine name... 'Eu' stands for 'good', 'stoma' for 'mouth'. So Eustoma means 'good mouth'.

Which isn’t really that strange, when you think about it.

Because every time you see the versatile lisianthus with all its shapes, colours and varieties, your mouth drops open in amazement and wonder.

Just take a look!

These three seem stage-struck...

Originating in the West Indies, Mexico, and Central and South America, the flower is known botanically as Eustoma grandiflorum.

The common name comes from the Greek words lysis, meaning 'dissolution' and anthos, meaning 'flower'.

Colours include white, light and dark pink, lavender and deep purple.

They are great cut-flowers.

Double and single-flower varieties exist.

Two, bloom and a bud, just about to erupt!

Iceland Poppies, I love them, these are from my garden.

The petals are quite sheer, and very tender, indeed like butterfly wings. Their colours so vibrant, raindrops clinging on, yes, they were thrashed about by strong winds, a little damaged.

The colourful poppy, with tissue-paper petals on thin hairy, wiry stems

Cultivars come in shades of yellow, orange, salmon, rose, pink, cream and white as well as bi-coloured varieties.

Papaver nudicaule, the Iceland poppy also called Arctic poppy, is a boreal flowering plant.

Native to sub-polar regions of Europe, Asia and North America, and the mountains of Central Asia, (but not in Iceland)…

a small bud and two beautiful blooms.

The Peony is indigenous to China, but was imported to Japan so early it is difficult to be certain when the transplantation occurred. It is a perennial plant with single flowers of white, red, hot pink or pale pink, which are born in late spring.

The peony was originally introduced as medicine. In fact, its ancient Japanese name "Ebisugusuri" literally means ‘medicine from China’. However, due to its beautiful and now mostly double blooms, in time, many decorative varieties were developed. In Japanese society, it was seen both as a medicine and a source of beauty.

A master of compelling performance pieces, Beueys flew to New York, picked up by an ambulance, and swathed in felt, was transported to a room in the Rene Block Gallery. The room was also occupied by a wild coyote, and for a period of 8 hours a day for the next three days, Beueys spent his time with the coyote in the small room, with little more than a felt blanket and a pile of straw. While in the room, the artist engaged in symbolist gestures, such as striking a triangle and tossing his gloves to the coyote. At the end of the three days, the coyote, who had become quite tolerant of Beueys, allowed a hug from the artist, who was transported back to the airport via ambulance. He never set foot on outside American soil nor saw anything of America other than the coyote and the inside of the gallery.

The ‘BLEUET’ of France worn in the buttonhole is the symbol of memory and solidarity towards veterans , victims of war, widows and orphan

I had this image in my head for over a week, just could not find the blue ribbon to perfectly match this and hold this a the perfect gift for you.

Centaurea cyanus, commonly known as cornflower or bachelor's button, is an annual flowering plant in the family Asteraceae, native to Europe.

The cornflower is considered a beneficial weed and its edible flower can be used for culinary decoration, for example to add colour to salads.

Cornflowers have been used and prized historically for their blue pigment.

Cornflowers are often used as an ingredient in some tea blends and herbal teas and is famous in the Lady Grey blend of Twinings.

I find this a happy and summery image. Bringing ‘joie de vivre’. A personal fave again.

I uploaded the seedpod a few days ago… what happened next?

Due to the heat given off by the lights in the studio, the pods started to open and the pod opened and released the seeds.

Hundreds of seeds fluffing from that one pod. In a matter of minutes all of the seeds floated out of the pod.

Once the process of release started, it could not be stopped.

I loved shooting this small miracle of nature in my studio.

Gomphocarpus fruticosus: Asclepias fruticosa is the old botanical name, Narrowleaf cotton bush, Swan bush, Swan milkweed the popular ones.

Here: the seedbox/seeds

Inflated green and later light brown, papery pod or follicle; short bristly hair cover the outer surface; dark seeds have silvery cotton wool-like attachments that facilitate wind distribution.

Asclepias fruticosa is a species of milkweed native to South Africa.

It is also common in New Zealand where it is the main host of the monarch butterfly.

The plant's tissues contain sufficient cardenolides that consumption of significant quantities of the plant's leaves, stems, or fruit may lead to death in livestock and humans.

Brought this from Sardinia to photograph in my studio.

Thanx for your comments and time, M, (*_*)
